Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Blood Donor Committee, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Si., Ak., thanked the ‘heroes of humanity,’ in this case, the donors who have donated the blood. “This Blood Donor activity is regularly held every 11th. However, in March, because the 11th of yesterday coincided with the Open Session of the Academic Senate, the blood donor was postponed to the 15th,” said Prof. Bandi

Prof. Bandi added that the UNS academics members who participated in the Blood Donor activities were very enthusiastic. In the previous months, the number of donors was around 50, but there were more than 100 in March.

Opened the event directly, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, SH, M.Hum., thanked all committee members of the 46th UNS Anniversary. “The 46th Anniversary Committee is very outstanding because they can invite Mr. President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo, to inaugurate the UNS Tower Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building,” explained Prof. Jamal.

Prof. Jamal hopes for more and more UNS academics member to donate their blood because this blood donor activity is a noble activity that can help each other. “The hope is for the campus to be not only an Ivory Tower but must be able to become the Water Tower. We thank all those who have participated in this activity, including the sponsors,” said Prof. Jamal.

In this blood donor activity, vitamin supplements from PT Ifars Pharmaceutical Laboratories (PT IFARS) were also distributed to the donors. Humas UNS

This blood donation was also attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, and the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana. In his opening remark, Dr. Mardiyana hoped that this blood donation event could benefit many people.

Prof. Jamal also appreciated the event, considering it is a regular occasion held in different faculty each month.

“At first, this blood donation was not structured, then I discussed with RKPU and the executive board so that DWP could hold regular blood donation on the 11th or nearing it. This (schedule) is to make it identical to 11 Maret. We have 11 faculties and two schools; around a year, it (the blood) donation will return to your faculty,” Prof. Jamal explained.

Prof. Jamal also wanted to prepare an art activity held for each faculty each month.

“We try in one faculty, if once a month, it will only be once a year (for each faculty). Let’s revive the harmony in life,” he added.

Prof. Jamal hoped that blood donation could benefit many people. A drop of blood is crucial for those needing it. Humas UNS
