Competing in this championship, the two students proposed the idea of rehabilitation exercise as a treatment for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The proposed exercise combines Ai Chi with music therapy. “Ai Chi is one of the hydrotherapy programs that can be implemented in lung rehabilitation programs aimed at improving respiratory function in people with COPD. On the other hand, music therapy has a positive effect on people with COPD and serves as a complementary therapy (complementary medicine). COPD patients experience a fundamental respiratory inability, usually in the form of shortness of breath, chronic cough, chronic sputum production, and limited activity,” explained Bayu, Tuesday (26/4/2022). The Master’s student added that this physical exercise for people with COPD aims primarily to reduce symptoms, improve quality of life, and improve daily activities.

In this competition, they must pass various stages before being awarded the title. At the beginning stage, they submit a short essay containing the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Through this idea, Bayu and Rizka managed to eliminate more than 400 other contenders from various countries, which finally selected four finalists who qualified for the final stage. After this stage, they sent posters by post to the committee as presentation material on April 3, 2022.

When it was announced that they won 2nd place, Bayu admitted that he was thrilled with the news and did not expect it. “Thank God we were happy and surprised because we should have presented the material on-stage there (India), but it turned out that there was an amendment in the rating system. The preliminary assessment, which was previously based on the presentation, is turned into based on the jury’s assessment. So, the jury assessed the posters we had sent,” he said.

A similar response was also expressed by Rizka Lailatul Rohmah. She was exhilarated and grateful for the opportunity to participate and win the competition. “Surely, I am delighted to participate in the largest healthcare event in India. Moreover, the theme is in line with my area of interest in building a ‘safety’ culture. The Occupational Health and Safety culture must be applied in various sectors, such as the medical sector, where patient safety and service become the main objective of health service,” Rizka said.

Rizka hopes that through these activities, they can bring innovations that can encourage continuous quality improvement and assist health organizations in developing a safety culture. Humas UNS

The competition entitled ‘General Achmad Yani Scientific Competition 2021’ was organized by the Faculty of Medicine, Jenderal Achmad Yani University. In the competition, Ihza and his team created a poster on Schizophrenia. He said that the poster’s purpose was to provide information to the public about Schizophrenia and its preventive measure.

“We decided to choose this topic because there is still much stigma in the community towards people with mental disorders, which is considered due to supernatural influences, and many of them are in shackles. This topic is in line with the shackle-free Indonesia Policy. On the other hand, we also provide information to educate people to have more concern toward mental health,” explained Ihza to uns.ac.id, Friday (4/2/2022).

Dozens of teams from various universities in Indonesia participated in the poster competition. The submitted posters were assessed by the competition committee, and participants who qualify as finalists must take part in the final round on Saturday (29/1/2022). The competition’s winner was announced at the National Symposium on Mental Health Sunday (30/1/2022).

“We are exhilarated, we did not expect for this outcome and are grateful to have won 2nd Place in this competition. Hopefully, we can continue to develop our ideas and creativity in the future, thus, all the ideas contained in the posters can be useful for the community,” said Tyasno Koeshermanto.

Meanwhile, Vina Sari Nugrahaning Widia, often called Vina, hopes that the public will understand more about mental disorders, especially Schizophrenia. “Aside from increasing community concerns’ toward mental disorders, we hope that the community can also remove the stigma against People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ),” hoped Vina. In the competition that was held to commemorate Universitas Gunadarma Tax Center Anniversary on “With Tax Solve the Pandemic, Recover the Economy,” Nasyrur submitted a poster titled ‘6M of With Tax Solve the Pandemic, Recover the Economy.’ The poster invites people to pay their tax to support economic growth amid the pandemic, tax collection information until the end of 2021, types of tax, highest growth, challenges, and strategies to boost tax collection using 6M.

“First, providing a selective, appropriate, and measurable fiscal incentive for business. Then procedural relaxation to support economic recovery, improvement of various taxation regulations, and providing incentive for vocational, research and development, and community protection,” the class of 2019 student explained the 6M method on Tuesday (25/1/2022). The last 2M are optimizing tax collection by expanding the tax base and developing digital services.

Nasyrur also shared that the poster was inspired by Sri Mulyani, the Minister of Finance, a report regarding tax collection in 2021 that exceeded the national budget allocation. “Then I expanded the news so that my poster contains information on the challenges for taxation amid the Covid-29 pandemic,” he added.

Nasyrur admitted that he was delighted and grateful for the result and hoped that he could continue developing his ideas and creativity to benefit the community. “Besides, I hope I could bring maximum results in the future competitions,” he concluded. Humas UNS

Somatic: Sudirman Medical Scientific Competition 2021 organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Universitas Jendral Sudirman (Unsoed). When interviewed by uns.ac.id, Sena said that the poster was prepared with the theme of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“This poster creation aims to provide educational information, preventing community misinformation, and encouraging them to participate in vaccinations. The poster provides information regarding the definition of a vaccine, the prevalence of vaccine coverage and its effectiveness, the mechanism by which the Covid-19 vaccination can induce immunity, the benefits of the Covid-19 vaccination, and reminders of what to do after vaccination,” explained Sena, Saturday (8/1/2022).

The poster was encouraged by the public concern about getting vaccinated against Covid-19. “Then there are also hoaxes circulating in the community, such as vaccination is just a reason for implanted chips or others. Thus, we tried to straighten the facts through this poster. Coincidentally there was a competition with a similar theme; thus, we made it happen,” he added.

In the competition that lasted from September 25 to December 5, 2021, Sena and his team managed to beat numerous participants from various universities. The selection assessment began with works submission and public voting through Instagram, with 11 teams participating.

“We were surprised and thrilled because this is our first poster competition. Therefore, we are working really hard, requesting suggestions from our expert friends to support our material and advice for the areas of improvement. Hopefully, in the future, we can create more, not only on posters but also in other fields,” concluded Sena. Humas UNS

Fiska stated that she did not expect to win the competition considering the tight rivalry among the participants that came from university students and general people. Therefore, she was delighted to win the competition.

“Delighted because from two poster competitions I participated in, I feel that this is the strictest considering participants are not just university students, but also people in general, and did not expect that in the tight competition (I) could win 1st place,” she explained to uns.ac.id.

Her experiences from previous competitions becomes invaluable for her in participating in the competition held by the Agritechno Business Center Student Organization (ABC) Faculty of Agricultural Technology Universitas Brawijaya.

The poster creation process includes thorough research on the data that will be used in the poster. The student and entrepreneur also looked at poster references and put more creativity into the poster since it was an individual competition.

“I also look for support from my friends because the assessment score is also affected by the total likes (on the post),” Fiska added.

Fiska is an excellent student who won many competitions through her business, Bronislur. Last month she won two places in Business Event Competition (BEC) 2021 held by UKF Entrepreneurship, Universitas Mataram. Fiska won 1st place for Poster Design and 1st place in Business Opinion Column Writing. Humas UNS

The team that consisted of An’nurihza Zidhan Azhara, Aliya Naziha, and Aisyah Jauza Adiba Indi participated in the public poster by submitting work with a sub-theme “Preventive, Promotive, Curative, and Rehabilitative Actions in Minimizing Pediatric Illnesses.” According to An’nurihza, the topic and sub-theme selection were a challenge for them because they tried to be careful and thorough in each suggestion given during the discussion process.

Their poster titled “Tetap Aman Isolasi Mandiri Anak Bersama SAHABAT” (stay safe self-quarantine with children with SAHABAT) was selected because Covid-19 is still the main focus for people, especially when it affects children. Unlike infection on adults, children need supervision from adults during their self-quarantine. The poster was created to answer frequently asked questions regarding how to manage self-quarantine for children.

“That’s why we created a poster for parents on how to take care of children,” An’nurihza stated to uns.ac.id on Sunday (28/11/2021).

SAHABAT is a shortened version of seven steps to be taken by parents when their children go through a self-quarantine. The seven steps are: always washing hands, teaching children coughing etiquette, monitoring oxygen saturation and body temperature in the morning and afternoon, asking children to wear a mask, providing breastmilk and nutritious foods, managing physical distancing with other people, and staying at home.

The information is expected to help parents in taking care of their children during self-quarantine with limited equipment and how to prevent Covid-19 infection on children. Representing her team, An’nurihza said that she was glad and grateful for the achievement that brought positive results for their hard works.

“We learned a lot of things so that in the future we could be better. We certainly hoped that our work would benefit and provide education media for the community,” she said.

ARC 2021 is a competition held by the students of the Faculty of Medical Science and Health Science (FKIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar under the theme of “Outlining all possibilities to Pediatric disease for ‘Indonesia Sehat 2025.” The competition has several categories; scientific essay, public poster, literature review, and TikTok education. In Rumah KIP-K Universitas Siliwangi, Fathul Nisa submitted a work titled “New Phase of Technoculture,” where she shared her idea on the new culture in technology use amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The information on the affecting factors, including economy, education, and innovation, was presented in a colorful and detailed poster which brought Nisa to be announced as 1st winner on Sunday (7/11/2021).

Her earlier achievement in Pekan Raya FKIP Unsri was announced on Monday (18/10/2021) and granted 1st prize for Nisa’s work in new normal adaptation at the educational institution, which tells the tale of learning adjustment from face-to-face meetings to online meetings after the pandemic started. The adoption of technology in the learning system could help students in absorbing materials while demanding students to adjust to the current changes.

These competitions are a break for Nisa from her university activities because she loves to design, and she thinks that her skills would have a vital role in supporting her future career. Her achievements also brought pride for UNS at the national level, and Nisa hoped that she could continue achieving similar achievements in the future.

“What makes me happier is to bring the name of program and university in the competition, I hope, in the future, I could continue participating in many competitions and reaching achievements to bring pride for Informatics Engineering and UNS,” Nisa stated on Tuesday (9/11/2021). Humas UNS

The competition was organized virtually by the Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Pekalongan on 4 September 2021. Taking on the theme of ‘building a research ecosystem through the creativity and innovation of millennials,’ the team choose economy as the sub-topic for their creation.

Brillian explained that the process of building an economic research ecosystem could not be separated from millennials’ creativity and innovation. Digital platforms in Indonesia are growing because of the contribution from the millennial generation. The development of digital platforms in Indonesia had a positive impact on the economic sector.

“This idea is inferred from the digital buyer projection data that shows significant growth. Considering this growth, it would be nice to maintain the improvement or even accelerate it. Therefore, we as millennials must collaborate to be a better digital economy movement pioneers in order to achieve global advancement,” he explained on Thursday (7/10/2021).

Further, he reveals that he was happy when the team was announced as a champion and managed to outperform other participants from various universities. “We are indeed happy, because in the midst of this ongoing pandemic, we can actually contribute to the UNS achievements,” said Brillian.

The third-semester student wishes to contribute further with their future creation. “Hopefully, in the future, we can be more courageous to push our limit and can create more innovations for UNS. We do not know the limit of our capacity if we never try. So do not be afraid to try something new and try as hard as you can to achieve it.” Humas UNS
