Distinguished Guests and Academic Achievements

Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si, M.Si., Vice Rector for Academic and Research Affairs at UNS, attended the event. Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K)., Dean of FK UNS, and the vice deans of FK UNS were also present. Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S(K), Deputy Director for Education and Research at UNS Hospital, participated in the event. Dr. Muhammad Husen Prabowo, dr., MPH, and the heads of PPDS study programs at FK UNS also joined the event.

Dr. Eti Poncorini, dr., M.Pd., Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs at FK UNS, delivered the academic report. She stated that FK UNS has graduated 2.024 specialist doctors since its establishment in 1976. These graduates work across Indonesia, bringing their expertise to various institutions. They contribute to healthcare services, education, research, and specialist roles in government, private sectors, and the military (TNI/POLRI).

Graduates and Their Achievements

Seven graduates completed their studies in this period. Three came from the Pediatrics Study Program, three from Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, and one from Psychiatry. Among them, Sofia Kusumadewi, dr., Sp. J. P., graduated from the Cardiology and Vascular Medicine Study Program. She achieved the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3,87. Meanwhile, Safitri Tia Tampy, dr., Sp. A., was the youngest graduate in this ceremony. She completed the Pediatrics Study Program at 29 years and 10 months old.

In his speech, FK UNS Dean Prof. Reviono emphasized the importance of professionalism. He reminded newly appointed specialist doctors to uphold it in their medical careers. He highlighted integrity and professionalism as the fundamental values instilled throughout their education.

“Professionalism comprises several key components, including competence, responsibility, and patient safety, which are essential aspects of medical ethics. Additionally, having a strong and positive professional network is crucial for continuous learning and career development,” he stated.

The March 2025 PPDS graduation, held after UNS’s 49th Dies Natalis, marked a special occasion. Prof. Fitria expressed her hope that graduates would uphold UNS’s esteemed reputation. She emphasized that their dedication as specialist doctors reflects humanitarian values and contributes to society.

“May the knowledge gained, hard work, and commitment of our graduates bring benefits, blessings, and significant contributions to society. We hope all specialist doctors dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their profession. They must uphold noble character and ethics to enhance UNS’s reputation,” Prof. Fitria concluded.

Dr. Eti Poncorini Pamungkasari, dr., M.Pd., Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs at FK UNS, reported that the January 2025 PPDS graduates consist of 27 participants from nine study programs. These programs are Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Neurology, Radiology, Pediatrics, Clinical Pathology, Psychiatry, and Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

“With the January 2025 PPDS graduates, FK UNS has, since its establishment in 1976, produced 1.987 specialist doctors who have served across the nation in various institutions, including healthcare services, education, research, as well as in government, private sectors, and the military or police,” Dr. Eti said.

The graduate with the highest GPA in this period was Ardisa Permata Putri, dr., Sp.N., from the Neurology study program, achieving a GPA of 3,88. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate was Enrico Jonathan Hartono, dr., Sp.An-Ti., from the Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy study program. Born in Madiun on May 29, 1996, Enrico graduated at 28 years and 7 months old.

During this graduation period, there were also six participants earning the Cum Laude distinction. They are Ardisa Permata Putri, dr., Sp.N.; Sheila Savitri, Sp.P.K.; Martha Oktavia Dewi Savitri, Sp.N.; Ageng Sunjoyo, Sp.Rad.; Hani Natalie, Sp.Rad.; and Rizal Nur Rohman, Sp.N.

Messages for Alumni

In his remarks, FK UNS Dean Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K)., shared three guiding principles for the new specialist doctors as they begin their professional careers.
“After graduating from FK UNS, I have three key messages for you. First is integrity; you must uphold integrity as a specialist doctor. Honesty will attract people to work with you. Second is professionalism; you have been trained with essential components like competency tests, adequate preparation, and a sense of responsibility. Lastly, expand your network; whether with fellow professionals, alumni, or across interprofessional disciplines,” Prof. Reviono said.

The Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni at UNS, Prof. Ir. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., congratulated the new specialists for completing their studies. He encouraged them to apply their knowledge to serve society.

“Your graduation is a testament to years of hard work, smart work, and sincere dedication. It marks a new milestone in your journey as you step into the community. I urge you to use your knowledge to help others and contribute to society,” Prof. Dody said.

Representing the graduates, Enrico Jonathan Hartono, dr., Sp.An-Ti., expressed pride in being a student at FK UNS and gratitude to the faculty for their guidance throughout his studies. “We sincerely thank the faculty for their support and facilities during our time at FK UNS. We are grateful for the time, effort, knowledge, opportunities, patience, and care you’ve given us at every phase of our education. We hope to apply, develop, and make the knowledge we’ve gained beneficial,” dr. Enrico said.

The ceremony was participated by 37 graduates from nine programs. In total, FK UNS has graduated 1,479 specialist doctors. According to the report from Vice-Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FK UNS, dr. Paramasari Dirgahayu, Ph.D., three graduates were from surgical science program, one from otolaryngology-head and neck surgery program; 10 from internal medicine program; two from the heart and vascular program; two from neurology program, three from obstetrics and gynecology program, six from orthopedic and traumatology program, six from pulmonology program and respiratory system, and four from radiology program.

Three graduates received a scholarship from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) RI, and 298 PPDS UNS graduates were funded by the scholarship. The two best graduates in the ceremony were Dedy Tri Wijaya, dr., Sp.PD., and Wisnu Yudho Hutomo, dr., Sp.PD., both achieved a 3.89 GPA from the internal medicine program. The youngest graduate in the ceremony was Nur Ismi Mustika Febriani, dr., Sp.PD., from the internal medicine program, graduated in her 30s.

In the ceremony led by Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Andika Dwi Cahya, dr., Sp.P., acted as a representative from the graduates, delivered a remark, and thanked all faculty members for the supervision, teaching, and learning process during their education. He emphasized that graduation is an appropriate moment to reflect on the meaning of the process and reminded his fellows to be ready with the new duties. “Hopefully, PPDS FK UNS could develop and leads in shaping reliable, a professional specialist physician with noble values, who have the capability to serve and help the community with their expertise and skills,” Andika stated.

The Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, mentioned in his remark that this graduation ceremony is a stage in building up a career. He also reminded the graduates that there are many more stages that they need to go through. However, no matter what the graduates select, they need to be responsible for their selection. “Graduation is not the end. You will continue serving the country, the nation, and humanity,” Prof. Reviono stated.

In the last remark, Prof. Ahmad Yunus congratulated the graduates and reminded them that they have a significant role in handling the current pandemic. The rapid development of healthcare and technology needs to be followed by specialist doctors’ knowledge improvements. Synergy and research collaboration are vital parts that need to be developed continuously.

“To the new 37 specialist physicians, I reminded you to maintain your professional oath and the name of FK UNS as your almamater,” Prof. Ahmad Yunus concluded. Humas UNS
