PT. Sang Hyang Seri, a subsidiary of PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero), part of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Food Holding Company, operates as a limited liability company specializing in the production and distribution of crop seeds, particularly rice seeds, as well as other agricultural products. The company is focused on developing high-quality agricultural products to support food security in Indonesia. PT. Sang Hyang Seri plays a vital role in the agricultural sector, especially in supplying superior seeds that boost national agricultural productivity.

The company is also involved in various research and development (R&D) activities to create seed varieties that are more resistant to diseases, adaptable to climate changes, and more efficient in their use. Additionally, PT. Sang Hyang Seri collaborates with educational institutions, government bodies, and other partners to support the advancement of the agricultural sector in Indonesia.

In his remarks, the Dean of FP UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samanhudi, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for establishing a formal partnership with PT. Sang Hyang Seri, marking it as a strategic partner for the faculty.

“As the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at UNS, I am highly appreciative and grateful to formalize a closer collaboration with PT. Sang Hyang Seri. This partnership is a crucial step in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, and it serves as a strategic alliance to develop potential resources in the agricultural sector,” Prof. Samanhudi stated.

The signing of the MoU between FP UNS and PT. Sang Hyang Seri signifies a commitment by both institutions to collaborate in research and the breeding of food crops such as corn, rice, soybeans, and other horticultural products. According to the official website fp.uns.ac.id, the scope of this partnership includes several key activities. These involve utilizing product data as a reference for research and development of new inventions, producing invention products derived from research and development efforts, and marketing the invention products and other products generated through these efforts.

The signing of this MoU aligns with collaborative efforts to achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture, supporting the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Number 2: Zero Hunger, and SDG Number 17: Partnerships for the Goals. HUMAS UNS
