Key university officials, including UNS Rector Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., Vice Rectors, and Deans, attended the UNS graduation ceremony. Members of the academic community also took part in the event. Distinguished guests such as representatives from the Board of Trustees (MWA), Academic Senate, and the Professors Council were also present. Dr. Ir. Heru Tjahjono, M.M., a UNS alumnus and member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission IX, also attended. He represented the UNS Alumni Advisory Council.

Rector’s Remarks: Embracing Lifelong Learning

In his address, Prof. Hartono congratulated all graduates and expressed appreciation to their families for their support. He emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and adaptability in an ever-changing global environment.

“Graduation is not the end—it is the beginning of a new journey in the real world,” he said. “Today’s job market is dynamic and highly competitive. It demands graduates who are adaptable, creative, and committed to lifelong learning.”

He encouraged graduates to continuously improve themselves through further studies, professional training, or practical work experience. Prof. Hartono reminded them not to become complacent, but instead to actively refine their skills and expand their professional networks.

Academic Report: Breakdown of Graduates

Vice Rector for Academic and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si., M.Si., delivered the official graduation report. She revealed that out of 497 graduates, 220 earned the cum laude title.

The graduates came from diverse academic levels, including:

• 21 from the Diploma III program,
• 346 from Bachelor’s programs,
• 10 from the Professional Engineer program,
• 13 from the Specialist Doctor program,
• 2 from the Sub-specialist Doctor program,
• 76 from Master’s programs, and
• 11 from Doctoral programs.

Notably, three graduates were international students from Timor-Leste.

Graduates with Outstanding Achievements

This graduation period also celebrated outstanding students. In the Doctoral program, Dr. Singgih Dwi Prasetyo from Mechanical Engineering was the fastest and youngest graduate. He completed his degree in 2 years and 5 months at the age of 25 years and 6 months.

From the Master’s program, Isnayni Sabila, M.Ak. (Accounting) completed her studies in just 1 year and 3 months. Meanwhile, Arining Indrasari Ahdi, M.Pd. (English Education) became the youngest graduate at 23 years old.

In the Bachelor’s program, Widya Indriani, S.P. (Agribusiness) was the fastest graduate with a study period of 3 years and 4 months. Nisa Nurlaila Pangesti, S.Ds. (Visual Communication Design) was the youngest at 20 years and 9 months.

For the Diploma III program, Mutiara Anugerah Safitri, A.Md. (Agricultural Product Technology) graduated in 2 years and 10 months. Safira Chairunissa, A.Md. (Agribusiness) was the youngest graduate at 21 years and 1 month.

Alumni Insights from Dr. Heru Tjahjono

UNS alumnus Dr. Ir. Heru Tjahjono, M.M., praised the university’s contributions to national development. He noted that UNS alumni have served the country in key roles. These roles range from ministers and parliament members to governors and mayors.

He also reminded graduates to be wise in utilizing today’s abundant information access. “While AI is becoming more common, LMK—Leadership, Marketing, and Communication—can still surpass it,” he said. “Start by being leaders in your immediate environment. Continue to develop your hard and soft skills, and always enhance your competencies.”

Out of the 703 graduates, 209 achieved the distinction of cum laude or honors. A poignant moment marked the ceremony as the late Aan Dwiky Handoyo, S.Pt., was honored. Prof. Hartono personally handed over Aan’s bachelor’s degree certificate to his family, as the auditorium witnessed the emotional moment.

“We deeply mourn the loss of one of our graduates, Aan Dwiky Handoyo, from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry. May he rest in peace and find the best place in His presence. To his family, who are here to receive his bachelor’s degree certificate, we extend our heartfelt condolences and utmost respect,” Prof. Hartono said.

The graduation ceremony also recognized graduates with exceptional achievements. Dr. Mujtaba Jamal, a graduate of the Linguistics Doctoral Program, was acknowledged as the fastest doctoral graduate, completing his studies in just 2 years and 3 months. Meanwhile, the youngest doctoral graduate was Dr. Sujiyani Kassiavera from the Science Education Program, graduating at the age of 32 years and 6 months.

For the master’s program, Qori Nur Fauziah from the Agronomy Program was recognized as the fastest graduate, completing her studies in 1 year and 4 months. The youngest master’s graduate was Nur Azizah Fitrianti from the Communication Science Program, earning her degree at the age of 24 years and 1 month.

In the undergraduate program, the fastest graduate was Keesa Ananda from the Animal Husbandry Program, who completed her studies in 3 years and 2 months. The youngest undergraduate graduate was Roisdha Ika Syaharani from the Food Technology Program, graduating at 20 years and 9 months old.

Among diploma graduates, the fastest Diploma IV graduate was Ridwan Efendi from the Demography and Civil Registration Program, completing his studies in 3 years and 11 months. The youngest Diploma IV graduate was Okta Fajriani Faliha from the Applied Midwifery Program, earning her degree at 22 years and 3 months.

For the Diploma III program, the fastest graduate was Leonardus Ratsangka Cahya Winnardi from the Civil Engineering Program, completing his studies in 2 years and 10 months. The youngest graduate in the Diploma III program was Ghania Najwa Zea Fariha Raya from the English Program, graduating at the age of 20 years and 9 months. The ceremony also celebrated the achievements of five international graduates from Timor-Leste, Egypt, and Afghanistan, further highlighting the diverse academic community at UNS.

The Acting Rector, Dr. Chatarina Muliana, congratulated the 826 graduates on their successful completion of their education and attainment of academic degrees in their respective fields. She emphasized that their success today is not the end of their journey but the beginning of a greater responsibility.

“Being a proud alumnus is not only measured by success in a career or material achievements but also by the positive contributions you make to society, the nation, and the country. Be agents of change who bring positive impacts in every step. Never stop learning and developing yourselves,” Dr. Chatarina said in her speech.

Dr. Chatarina also reminded the graduates of the significant role alumni play in accelerating UNS’s progress towards becoming a World Class University. Alumni can help expand national and international networks and collaborations, share knowledge and expertise, provide financial support, and serve as mentors for students and prospective students.

The Acting Rector also advised the graduates to express gratitude to their parents and families who have sacrificed and supported their success, enabling them to graduate and receive their academic degrees.

“My final message to all graduates is to thank your parents and families with love after this graduation ceremony. Remember that your success is not solely due to your efforts but also because of their loving prayers and sacrifices,” Dr. Chatarina added.

Meanwhile, Acting Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S., reported that of the 826 graduates, 463 graduated with cum laude honors. This graduation ceremony also included six international graduates from Tanzania, Uganda, Bangladesh, and Timor-Leste.

Prof. Yunus highlighted some remarkable achievements among the graduates. The fastest Doctoral graduate, Dr. Yuniaristanto from the S-3 Industrial Engineering study program, completed his studies in 2 years and 2 months. The youngest Doctoral graduate, Dr. Safrihady from the S-3 Indonesian Language Education study program, graduated at the age of 34 years and 10 months.

The fastest and youngest Master’s graduate, Tetiana Fitrianingsih, M.Ak., from the S-2 Accounting study program, completed her studies in 1 year and 3 months and graduated at the age of 23 years and 6 months.

The fastest Bachelor’s graduate, Jericho Julius Prabowo, S.Sos., from the S-1 International Relations study program, completed his studies in 3 years and 5 months, while the youngest Bachelor’s graduate, Devisa, S.Pd., from the S-1 English Education study program, graduated at the age of 20 years and 2 months.

The fastest and youngest Diploma IV graduate, Fadhila Tsania Richa, S.Tr.Keb., from the Applied Midwifery study program, completed her studies in 3 years and 9 months and graduated at the age of 21 years and 10 months.

The fastest Diploma III graduate, Haykal Firgy Saputra, A.Md.Farm., from the Pharmacy study program, completed his studies in 2 years and 9 months, while the youngest Diploma III graduate, Fandy Satya Santoso, A.Md.T., from the Civil Engineering study program, graduated at the age of 21 years and 1 month.
