The writing assistance program was held offline in Indraprastha Room, UNS Inn, on Thursday (7/4/2022) and online through the Zoom Cloud Meetings platform. The writing assistance program attracted 120 participants who joined the program offline and online.

The Chairman of UPPI LPPM UNS, Prof. Dr. Doddy Setiawan, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Ak., explained that the program aims to assist faculty members and postgraduate students in writing Scopus-indexed proceedings as they are required to publish works in Scopus.

“We will help the participants who experience difficulties in Scopus,” Prof. Doddy stated.

UPPI is a new unit under the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UNS, established in 2021 and starting its activities this year. The Chairwoman of LPPM UNS, Prof. Okid Parama Astirin, M.S., highly appreciated UPPI initiative in holding the program. UPPI would greatly help UNS accelerate its international publication as a new unit. Prof. Okid also stated that the program had attracted many participants.

“I think this international publication assistance is vital for faculty members who are required to publish internationally. But it seems that the need is not limited to faculty members but also postgraduate students who are enthusiastic about conducting research and publication,” Prof. Okid stated.

This enthusiasm is an asset for UNS to be developed in increasing its international publication. She also explained that the assistance should not stop with the event but could be focused on small groups. Participants will be assigned a personal assistant for continuous support during their publication process.

Participants received materials from two speakers, Dr. Miftahul Awar, S.Si., M.Eng and Tri Mulyaningsih, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., in a six hours program. Dr. Miftahul assisted in the natural science write-up, while Tri Mulyaningsih, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., assisted in the social and humanities tracks. Humas UNS

The ceremony was opened with a remark from the Chairman of the Board of Professors UNS, Prof. Drs. Suranto Tjiptowibisono, M.Sc., Ph.D., explained that retirement is an appreciation for a professor after completing their services, marked with a scientific speech. Prof. Suranto also praised both professors’ health in entering their retirement, stating that it is a sign of new light left for their juniors.

Representing the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Bandi M.Si., Ak., as the Vice-Rector for Management and Human Resources Affairs, congratulated and thanked the professors in his remark for their dedication, loyalty, examples, and services for UNS. As a commitment and appreciation for their services, UNS also invited both professors to continue sharing their knowledge as professor emeritus in FKIP. “Hopefully, their presence as senior faculty members could assist UNS in achieving its dream as a world-class university,” Prof. Bandi stated.

The first speech in the ceremony was delivered by Prof. Widha Sunarno on “An Interesting, Challenging, and Exciting Natural Science Learning (Physics) (PF3M),” which visualizes the abstract physics concept in computer-based animation. “In PF3M, the learning process refers to the constructivist approach. Students shape their knowledge in their heads, acquire new knowledge, learning not remembering, and could apply abstract concepts into concrete technology,” Prof. Widha Sunarno explained.

On the same occasion, Prof. Suyitno delivered a scientific speech on “Text Reproduction and Ideology: Literature Studies” and explained that the receptive and productive subjects in literature studies are never completed nor unstructured. The truth in literature always continues and reflects the reality that needs to be read repeatedly, just like text, because it is continuously updated and increasingly complex. The receptive and productive subject in literature must be aware that literary texts result from continuous dialog from the creator’s creativity in responding to a phenomenon. Therefore, analyzing compound subjects in literature texts should be liberating and eliminate the possibilities of perfection from one text to another.

“In the future, literature works will be full of surprises, and it is just the written ones; there will be digital literature, and other types (of literature),” Prof. Suyitno stated.

The scientific speech was followed by the handover of the symbolic relay baton from Prof. Dr. Widha Sunarno, M.Pd. to Dr. Sarwanto, M.Pd., M.Si. and from Prof. Dr. Suyitno, M.Pd. to Dr. Edy Suryanto, M.Pd. Humas UNS

The meeting was attended by all UNS executive boards and MWA UNS. The Entry Meeting was opened by the Vice-Chairman of MWA UNS, Prof. Hasan Fauzi, M.B.A., Ph.D.

Prof. Hasan Fauzi, M.B.A., Ph.D., stated in his opening remark that an external independent audit is performed according to the Governmental Decree (PP) Number 56. The audit is performed before the verified financial report is submitted to the ministries and all related stakeholders.

“We, especially MWA UNS, will appoint an independent auditor, in this case, KAP, to assist in reviewing the accountability of UNS 2021 Financial Report. This audit aims to determine the feasibility of financial management in UNS,” Prof. Hasan stated. Humas UNS

Dr. Revi Gama Hatta Novika, M.Kes. as Person in Charge (PIC) for the project stated that for three months, students collaborate with several parties in supporting the program from Kemensos.

“For three months, students collaborate with Local Government, community leaders, local religious leaders, and all social driving stakeholders at local regions to support Kemensos’ program,” Dr. Revi stated.

This sharing session was held to welcome all Pejuang Muda from their respective region. This event was a means of sharing information and experiences that students achieved during their program in the regions decided by Kemensos. The regions including Sarolangun District-Jambi, Kapuas Hulu District-Kalimantan Barat, Manggarai District-NTT, and other regions all over Indonesia.

The participants shared that their program meets the needs of their respective regions, such as reducing stunting, improving social assistance data, to regional economic potential—Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S. stated that this program honed students’ skills such as caring attitude, communication, and social entrepreneurship.

Dr. Agr. Ir. Sigit Prastowo, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM., ASEAN Eng. and Dr. Dwi Prasetyani, S.E., M.Si. as the Chairman and Secretary of MBKM also added on the importance of various experiences in supporting skills after graduating from university, such as participating in Pejuang Muda program.

In the release received by the uns.ac.id team, Sayful Zuhri, who was involved in this program, hoped that this event could develop students’ skills during the education program.

“(It is) a positive and beneficial program for UNS students. Hopefully, students could continue developing themselves during their university years to be role models in the future that could benefit society. Hopefully, UNS could shape young intellectuals that were useful for the nation and the country,” he stated. Humas UNS
