The Commissioner of Provincial Information Commission (KIP) of Central Java Province, Ermy Sri Ardhyanti, explained in her speech that the assessment was held to provide a transparent perspective on public information for the community. In the two-days assessment, 15 districts/municipalities, 14 public hospitals at district/municipality and province/central region, and 29 provincial units at Central Java Province will be examined. KIP of Central Java will assess and classify the local government or public agencies into informative, moving to informative, quite informative, lack of informativeness, and not informative. Ermy Sri Ardhyanti mentioned that this public assessment had been held since 2014, and she hoped that this assessment could improve information transparency management by all local governments and public agencies in Central Java Province.

“Fifty-eight public agencies have passed the selection process wince May 2021. Including website check and social media managed (by the agencies). This public assessment is the fourth stage, and those who participate in this assessment are public agencies with a score higher than 80,” Ermy explained. Humas UNS

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta started a partnership with Bangor University, UK, in an effort to improve UNS networking with global universities. The agreement for collaboration was signed by both universities on Monday (22/11/2021) and will provide an opportunity for UNS students to participate in the abroad program at Bangor University.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer. nat.
The agreement for partnership will also open a great opportunity for collaboration of research between the two higher education institutions that will expand and improve UNS scientific research. UNS greatly appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with Bangor University, and Prof. Jamal hoped that there would be a stronger and longer collaboration with Bangor University.

Sam Jackson-Royle emphasized that institutional partnership always plays an important part for Bangor University because it is related to the improvement in the academic excellence of a university. He also explained that Bangor University’s research competence had been used to contribute to the economic, social, and cultural sectors. Both universities, according to him, need to walk together to be focused on shaping graduates with optimum skills that are expected to affect both the graduates and their surrounding environment.

“We hoped to welcome students from UNS and staff to enjoy (our university) and to welcome (their) participation in the mobility program,” Sam Jackson-Royle stated. Humas UNS

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta expands its collaboration network with multinational companies. The recent addition to its wide collaboration network was marked by a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT. Nihon Seiki Indonesia on Friday (12/11/2021). PT. Nihon Seiki Indonesia is a Foreign Investment Firm (PMA) from Japan that is engaged in electronic and automotive components in Bekasi, West Java.

The MoU was signed directly by Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS Prof. Sajidan and General Manager PT.
This MoU aims to synergize the potentials and resources from both institutions in achieving collaboration in education, research, community service, and development of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program in UNS. In his opening remark, Prof. Sajidan stated that the MoU covers three agreements with PT. Nihon Seiki Indonesia.

“This Memorandum of Understanding covers education, research and community services, MBKM implementation, and opens possibilities for other collaborations agreed by both institutions in a written agreement,” Prof. Sajidan mentioned.

Representing the Rector of UNS Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, who could not attend the ceremony, Prof. Sajidan hoped that the signed MoU could be implemented well. He also hoped that the agreement would not stop as a ceremonial occasion and emphasized the importance of commitment in implementing the agreement, especially in supporting the MBKM program in UNS.

“As always mentioned by the Rector, MoU should not stop at signing. It needs to be implemented. Besides, now, we need a link and match between industry and university,” Prof. Sajidan added.

General Manager PT. Nihon Seiki Indonesia Widodo Bodro Husodo, S.E., shared his thanks to UNS for the ceremony. Representing PT. Nihon Seiki Indonesia, he stated that his party would fully support the development of students’ skills, especially in industrial practice, because students are demanded to master the material and understand the implementation of knowledge they learn in the university.

“This is vital. Maybe later, UNS could send their students to learn at our place. And UNS research finding could be useful for what we are doing and for students,” Widodo stated. Humas UNS

UNS — The Immigration Office Class 1 TPI Surakarta opened the Eazy Passport Service at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) for Partnership and International Services (KLI) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta on Thursday (11/11/2021). The opening of the event was marked with Taiko play, a traditional Japanese musical instrument, by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, alongside the Head of KLI UNS, Rino Ardhian Nugroho, Ph.D., the Head of the Surakarta Class 1 Immigration Office, Dwi Anandita Hari Wibowo, MH., and the Head of the Information Technology and Communications Section for the Surakarta Class 1 Immigration Office, Sri Marhaeni Yuliastuti.

In his remarks, the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, accompanied by the Head of UPT KLI, Rino Ardhian Nugroho, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation to the Surakarta Class 1 Immigration Office, who takes the initiative for proposing Eazy Passport service to UNS. “The Eazy Passport service will facilitate the UNS Academic members during a passport application and renewal process,” explained Prof. Sajidan.

Prof. Sajidan added that the service is excellent to provide immigration services for the UNS Academic Members, including international students studying at UNS. “Through the Eazy Passport service, hopefully, the management process can be faster and more effective,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Surakarta Class 1 Immigration Office, Dwi Anandita Hari Wibowo, MH., said that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic had limited all aspects of life. The community members as passport applicants also have concerns regarding the need to go to the immigration office to apply for a new passport or replacement for an expired passport.

“This Eazy Passport service innovation is a convenience of services carried out outside the immigration office. Thus, the public does not need to apply for queue registration online through the Online Passport Queue (APAPO) application. This Eazy Passport service is a form of our determination to provide excellent service to the community, especially to the UNS Academic Members,” said Dwi Anandita.

Dwi Anandita hopes that the Eazy Passport service located at UPT KLI UNS can increase service satisfaction for the community, especially the UNS Academic Members.

Moreover, it turns out that the public’s interest in using the Eazy Passport Service is very high. A total of 95 people used the Eazy Passport Service at UPT KLI UNS to either apply for a new passport or extend their passport’s validity period. Humas UNS

Meanwhile, Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan, hopes that the partnership between UPT KLI UNS and the Surakarta Class 1 Immigration Office can be adequately implemented. “The first aspect of the partnership is related to the establishment of an Immigration Corner at the UPT KLI UNS as a form of international service collaboration in the form of immigration service provision for the UNS Academic Members. This effort aims to facilitate passport issuance and renewal service,” said Prof. Sajidan.

Secondly, this partnership agreement between UPT KLI UNS and the Surakarta Class 1 Immigration Office also opens up opportunities for the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program, especially for students from the Faculty of Law (FH) and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). Hence, the students in FH and FISIP can carry out internships or professional practices at the Surakarta Class 1 Immigration Office, where various real immigration cases can be studied properly to provide the most suitable solutions. This opportunity certainly will be a precious experience,” he concluded. Humas UNS

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held Anti-Violence Declaration for the UNS academic community. The Declaration was conducted in a hybrid manner and took place at the Hall of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) UNS, Tuesday (2/11/2021). This event was attended by UNS leaders, lecturers, academic support staff, and student organizations at UNS.

According to the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs report, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, UNS as a Pancasila Fortress Campus upholds the noble values of the nation’s culture. “Therefore, today, UNS will be declared as an anti-violence campus. Later, this declaration will be submitted and read by student representatives,” said Prof. Yunus.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, is highly supportive of this activity. This support is encouraged by the fact that a campus is a place full of scientific values, honesty, morality, and humanity. “The UNS academic community member continues to uphold its commitment to fight against both physical and verbal violence. Moreover, this effort is initiated by students who will later become future leaders. In general, campus violence, which leads to fatalities, can no longer be considered as an ordinary incident. This is an extraordinary incident,” said Prof. Jamal.

Additionally, Prof. Jamal is also concerned about the departure of Gilang Endi Saputra, a student of the Diploma in Health and Company Hygiene and Work Safety (K3) Study Program, Vocational School (SV) UNS. “We express our deepest condolences. May the departed be accepted by Allah, and his family will be given fortitude,” he added.

The Anti-Violence Declaration was delivered and read by Maulidina Zahra Nabila, a student from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNS. Then, after being read out, this declaration was signed by four representatives from student organizations, lecturers, academic support staff, and university (UNS) representatives. The student organizations were represented by Zakky Musthofa Zuhad; UNS lecturers were represented by dr. Paramasari Dirgahaju, Ph.D., academic support staff were represented by Wuji Anggraini, M.Pd.; and the UNS leader was represented by Dr. Sutanto, DEA. Humas UNS

UNS — The leaders of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta warmly welcomed the representatives of Student Alliance during a visit to the dr. Prakosa UNS to convey their support in a thorough investigation for the death of Gilang Endi Saputra during an Education and Training (Diklatsar) of Korps Mahasiswa Siaga (Corps of Student Reserve) Battalion 905 Jagal Abilawa UNS or often known as the UNS Student Regiment (Menwa – Resimen Mahasiswa). On this occasion, the UNS Student Alliance was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Academics and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, the Vice-Rector of General and Human Resources Affairs, Prof. Bandi, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, the Vice-Rector for Partnership, Planning, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, and the Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS Evaluation Team Leader, Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus.

The UNS Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, in front of the students, reiterated that UNS does not tolerate violence in the campus environment. “Once again, I reiterate that UNS does not tolerate any form of campus violence, whether perpetrated by education support staff, lecturers, students, and Student Organizations,” explained Prof. Yunus.

For this reason, UNS entirely hand over the inquiries and investigations process to the Police. “We leave everything to the Police. Until now, UNS has also not received the results of the late Gilang Endi Saputra’s autopsy,” added Prof. Yunus.

In this case, UNS has also formed an Evaluation Team for the Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS. “The Evaluation Team for the Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS is reviewing various sources to obtain data related to this incident,” said Prof. Yunus.

Meanwhile, the Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS Evaluation Team Leader, Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus, said that currently, the team is working to obtain data to uphold justice. “We work based on data, not on guesswork and assumptions. UNS continues to support the Police investigation process for this incident by coordinating and fully cooperating in terms of providing information and facilitating the smooth inspection process conducted by the Police to students and lecturers or education staff related to this incident. UNS fully trusts the professionalism of the Police in the ongoing investigation process and really hopes for the disclosure of the real facts; thus, the truth and justice will be truly upheld,” said Dr. Sunny. Humas UNS
