UNS Welcomes Vice Minister Prof. Stella Christie to Strengthen Higher Education Synergy

UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta welcomed the Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Wamendiktisaintek), Prof. Stella Christie, A.B., Ph.D., on Friday (7/2/2025). The visit aimed to strengthen the collaboration between higher education institutions and the government. Its goal was to drive the development of science and technology in Indonesia. During her visit, Prof. Stella also reviewed several groundbreaking research findings produced by UNS.

Prof. Stella Applauds UNS Innovations and Research

Prof. Stella praised the innovations, prototypes, and high-quality scientific articles developed by UNS. She emphasized the importance of spreading the benefits of UNS’s research and knowledge to the wider community.

“We strive to create regulations that not only govern but also provide support,” Prof. Stella said. “The ministry’s role is to help establish an ecosystem that bridges research with industry and community service.”

Key Leaders Attend Event at UNS Tower

The event took place at the UNS Tower. UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., attended the event. The university’s Vice-Rectors, leaders of Academic Senate and Professorial Council, also Director of UNS Hospital joined at the event. Deans and several research lecturers also participated. Students greeted Prof. Stella enthusiastically, engaging in direct dialogue with her during the UNS research exhibition.

Strategic Presentation on UNS Research and Innovation

In his presentation, Prof. Hartono outlined key strategic areas related to the quality of UNS research and innovation. He highlighted the university’s growing international visibility and its commitment to advancing the DREAMTEAM UNS program. The program aims to enhance research quality, making a substantial impact on global and national issues.

“Collaboration and innovation drive research at UNS, targeting national and global challenges. Our research priorities include partnerships with national and international researchers, publishing in reputable journals, and protecting intellectual property. We also focus on promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” Prof. Hartono explained.

UNS Achievements in 2024: A Year of Research Milestones

UNS achieved significant milestones in research in 2024, with 1.196 research proposals funded. The university also secured 338 copyrights, 38 patents, 27 industrial designs, 1 trademark, 11 innovative products, and 1.997 Scopus-indexed publications. These accomplishments highlight UNS’s dedication to integrating research into education and community service, creating lasting impact.

Strengthening Synergy for a Sustainable Research Ecosystem

This visit underscores the importance of stronger collaboration between UNS and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. It also highlights the need to build a more inclusive and sustainable research ecosystem.
