“The current research mobility program provides a room to discuss the previous research and future research opportunities between UNS and UPM. I would like to convey my gratitude for the warm welcome from the UPM School of Business and Economics (SPE). I hope this research mobility can go smoothly,” said Dr. Tastafiyan.

Assisted by UPM officials, the UNS entourage was given the opportunity to visit several functions in SPE, such as the classroom, hall, working space for students, lecturer office, and other functions. Moreover, the four lecturers were also given the opportunity to deliver lecture material according to their expertise in front of SPE UPM students. Dr. Tastafiyan added that a discussion on good study program management with the Dean of SPE UPM became one of the focuses of this visiting program.

Meanwhile, UPM is the first university in Malaysia to obtain Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) accreditation. Taking advantage of the existing opportunity, the lecturer from Digital Business Study Program FEB UNS managed to get information, tips, and trick for UNS.
“Solidarity and cooperation from various parties in an organization become the crucial aspect in achieving the AACSB accreditation,” said Prof. Yuhanis, Deputy Dean of Student and International Affairs SPE UPM.

Lastly, Dr. Tastafiyan hopes that the current program can be beneficial for both parties. “We uncovered numerous research topics after learning from UPM, which can be adopted in UNS. Moreover, this program is also expected to improve the collaboration between the two institutions, UNS and UPM,” Dr. Tastafiyan concluded. Humas UNS

The Seration Series is one of the UNS BEM work programs to support UNS objectives to be a World Class University (WCU). This activity focuses on exploring various WCU indicators through a study visit to global WCU universities. Additionally, the Seration Series will also cover discussions with inter-university Student Activity Units (UKM).

During this visit, the Vice President of BEM UNS, Abdullah Alhaddad, stated that he was thrilled to attend this event. “It is an honor for us to be able to host a study visit with UPM. Our gratitude went to the Directorate of Partnership, Development, and Internationalization UNS for supporting this event,” Abdullah said.

Furthermore, Abdullah hopes that the Seration Series can be beneficial to collect recommendations on essential points to encourage UNS in achieving WCU. Moreover, the Seration Series can also increase students’ knowledge and insight on the standard of international education quality. Students can also strengthen networking with the global academic world.

This event received special attention and support from UNS. The support was proved with the presence of the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M.Si., in the online event. Prof. Sajidan said that UPM is one of the global universities in the WCU category with stable performance and achievements. Therefore, UNS wants to learn from UPM to achieve WCU status immediately.

Additionally, Prof. Sajidan also places great emphasis on the collaboration established between the two universities. Collaboration is considered an essential aspect in today’s academic era. “Collaboration with overseas universities is very important to help students experience international standards. This activity should be beneficial for all parties, both UNS and UPM,” said Prof. Sajidan.

This visit was welcomed directly by the UPM International Center Steering Committee, Prof. Ir. Dr. Hasfalina Che Man. Prof. Hasfalina conveyed an overview of the UPM profile, including the strategies implemented by UPM during the pandemic. After the university introduction, the event is continued with a focus group discussion. Participants are divided into three breakout rooms according to a specific category: buddies, internationalization, and strategic plans. Each breakout room is attended by a combination of UNS and UPM students to discuss the designated topic in their respective rooms. Humas UNS

The visit on Wednesday (27/10/2021) was led by Vice-Dean I FS Universitas Negeri Malang, Dr. Primardiana Hermilia Wijayati, M.Pd., and participated by 20 people, including Vice-Dean II, the head and secretary of programs, and representatives of FS Universitas Negeri Malang faculty members. Through this benchmarking visit, both institutions were expected to exchange information, including the best practice in quality assurance.

The program was opened with an FKIP UNS profile introduction from Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro, who explained that his Faculty has 23 programs, 21 programs with A level accreditation, and two programs with B accreditation. The quality assurance process in FKIP UNS is implemented by UPM with three fields, Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI), External Quality Assurance System (SPME), and Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev). Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro also mentioned UNS achievement that is ranked I in accomplishing the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) in 2021.

Dr. Primardiana took the next session and shared the profile of FS Universitas Negeri Malang. Dr. Primardiana stated that the Faculty has 21 undergraduate programs and some of the programs are in the process of achieving international accreditation and certification. The program was then followed by the exchange of tokens of appreciation between the institutions and a special discussion on quality assurance.

In his presentation, the Chief of UPM FKIP UNS, Dr. Suharno, stated that quality assurance is implemented under the planning, implementation, evaluation, control, and improvement (PPEPP) cycle of quality standards. In the evaluation stage, FKIP UNS has two levels Internal Quality Audit (AMI). AMI level I is an evaluation for all programs in FKIP, and AMI level II is an evaluation for Faculty.

Dr. Baskoro Adi Prayitno, M.Pd., as the Coordinator for Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) FKIP UNS, added that all auditors in AMI level I are chief and secretary of Quality Assurance Cluster (GKM) of programs that have passed auditor training using instruments provided by Institute of Educational Quality Assurance and Development (LPPMP) UNS. Dr. Bowo Sugiharto, M.Pd., as the coordinator for SPMI, added that in implementing the quality assurance culture, FKIP UNS uses four levels of documents, SPMI Policy, SPMI Manual, SPMI Standard, and SPMI Form. After AMI, Faculty and University will hold Management Review Meeting (RTM) as a commitment to follow-up AMI findings. Humas UNS
