UNS — Student Community Service Program (KKN) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Team 61 held socialization on the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Tlogotirto Village, Sragen, Thursday (17/2/2022). The program responds to the dynamic changes in the business world, including for MSMEs that are demanded to adapt to the current technology.
To uns.ac.id, Monday (28/2/2022), Team KKN 61 UNS shared their stories in the implementation of their programs. The team collaborated with the local government through the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) and the Department of Cooperatives (Dinkop) of Sragen District. The socialization of “Government Policy in MSMEs Digital Development in Supporting Community Business” is expected to aid the local government programs.
Drs. Sigit Danang Jaya, M.M., the speaker, explained the common issues faced by the MSMEs and the strategies taken by the local government to empower the MSMEs. “We hope that MSMEs in Sragen District, especially in Tlogotirto Village, could be braver in developing their business into the bigger markets,” he stated. He added that the strategies offered by Sragen Government are assistance, mentoring, digitalization of MSME products, and providing space to enter tourism sectors and transportation infrastructure such as rest areas in a high way.
The second speaker, Tri Warsono, explained the MSME digital development further. He believes that MSME digitalization is the appropriate step to support local businesses. He stated that the government offers a digital marketing strategy for the local business to improve the businesses that were affected by the pandemic. He also explained various marketplace platforms and social media platforms that MSMEs could adopt to promote and sell their products.
“In this modern era, it is better if, as business owners, we follow the development by changing our marketing strategy using digital platforms because it could reach a wider market,” he added.
Niken Mega Utami, the person in charge of the program, explained that the socialization aims to provide new knowledge for the MSMEs, especially regarding the government’s policies on digital marketing. This socialization is also expected to provide output for MSMEs in improving their production and marketing through various digital platforms.
“One of the outputs of this socialization is establishing MSMEs group in Tlogotirto Village to facilitate coordination between MSMEs and related offices,” she added. Humas UNS
