UNS — The Chief of the Council of Rector of Indonesian State University (CRISU) and the Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, turned down the issue that mentioned that the Indonesian education index is declining. This issue appears after the closed announcement of the Collective Selection for Public University Admission (SBMPTN) (SBMPTN) result this year. This explanation was delivered in Special Dialogue “Dealing with SBMPTN 2021 Announcement” held by Okezone.com, Monday (14/6/2021).
The issue of the declining education quality came out because people consider the pandemic that affects Indonesia since March 2020 has reduced student’s interest to study. Two years of distance learning is feared to bring down prospective student’s SBMPTN score. “It (the education condition) is not like that, because we have built this system for a long time but (the pandemic) was only these two years in 2020 and 2021SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and independent selection, are not like that,” Prof. Jamal explained.
He also stated that the decision not to announce the SBMPTN result to the public is mainly because of the applicant’s privacy. This year, the Institute for University Admission Examination (LTMPT) through its Announcement Number: 02/Peng.LTMPT/2021 regarding Data Access of SNMPTN and SBMPTN Result point one mentioned that the result of SNMPTN and SBMPTN are private or individual and will only be announced to the related party. Therefore, LTMPT is not allowed to share applicant’s data with anybody, including their selection examination.
This statement is strengthened by the second point, which regulates that the applicants could access the announcement using their data through LTMPT or Public University website. “This system is not fully closed or open. Applicants have access to their final score. It is accessible but is not published to the public,” Prof. Jamal added. Humas UNS
