UNS — The General Secretary for the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo), Mira Tayyiba, S.T., MSEE., stresses the importance of Pancasila values preservation and the example on its implementation during the pandemic. This was expressed during the Virtual Shadow Puppet (Wayang Kulit) performance by the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta as a celebration of UNS 45th Anniversary, Saturday (20/3/2021).

Represented by Drs. Wiryanta, M.A., Ph.D., as the Director of Information and Communication for Human Development and Culture, Mira added that maintaining and practicing the local wisdom values become the method to preserve the Pancasila values.

“Our mission in the Ministry of Communication and Information in collaboration with the UNS and Pancasila Ideology Development Agency is to preserve and safeguards the Pancasila values in the middle of society and providing the implementation example during this pandemic,” explains Mira Tayyiba.

“It can not be denied that as a great nation with numerous ethnic groups and various religions the local wisdom need to be maintained. The local wisdom also needs to be implemented in our daily life to preserve Pancasila value,” Mira Tayyiba adds.

Mira Tayyiba who currently also serves as the Acting Director for the Directorate General of Information and Public Communication reminded the public that the Pancasila noble value is the legacy of our ancestors, thus it will always relevant forever. Therefore, the role of the young generation in preserving the Pancasila values will be significant.

“Considering that Pancasila is a noble value created in the middle of our community, which also a legacy from our ancestor with a long-term relevancy, it will always be relevant as long as the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia remains strong,” Mira Tayyiba explains.

“Of course in this pandemic condition, the role of young generation and millennials is crucial in preserving Pancasila values, which transformed digitally in its implementation to welcome everyday life, to welcome the next generation, thus Indonesia will always advance and be victorious,” Mira Tayyiba added while closing her remarks.
