UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, inaugurated a new study program within the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the Digital Business Undergraduate Study Program. The inauguration event was held on Friday (27/5/2022) at the UNS Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building Ballroom.
During the inauguration, the Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto, cut a ‘tumpeng’ symbolizing the inauguration of the new program and handed it over to the UNS Rector, witnessed by UNS Vice-Rectors, FEB UNS Vice-Deans, and the Head of the Digital Business Undergraduate Study Program. This event was also attended by high school representatives in Surakarta.
In his remarks, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, congratulated the Dean of FEB and FEB UNS faculty members for opening a contemporary and future-oriented study program. “The new students’ admission for this study program will be available through the UNS Independent Campus Admission scheme for the academic year2022/2023,” explained Prof. Jamal.
Prof. Jamal also said that with good collaboration between the FEB and the UNS Fintech Center and with the support of regional and international partners, the program would accelerate rapidly, becoming a national and even international reference in the development of digital business science. Furthermore, Prof. Jamal also expressed his gratitude to Prof. Wimboh Santoso, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), as one of the FEB UNS alumni, for his assistance in the initiation of this new study program.
After the Study Program inauguration, the event was followed by a talkshow on the challenges of digital business by presenting speakers from OJK, Alpha JWC, one of the Indonesian fintech companies, namely bibit.id, and the Head of Digital Business Undergraduate Study Program FEB UNS, Tastaftiyan Risfandy, Ph.D. Humas UNS
