UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an inauguration ceremony for the Administration and Supervisory Board of the Cooperative for the Employee of the Republic of Indonesia (KPRI) for the 2021 – 2025 period on Monday (3/5/2021). The ceremony is based on the UNS Rector Decree No. 590/ UN27/ HK/ 2021 regarding the Dismissal and Inauguration of the KPRI UNS Administration for the 2017-2021 Period and Inauguration of the KPRI UNS Administration and Supervisory Board for the Year 2021-2025. The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony was conducted virtually through the Zoom Cloud Meetings and is broadcasted through the Youtube UNS Channel.
On this occasion, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, led the oath-taking and inauguration ceremony followed by all KPRI UNS administration staff and supervisory board for the 2021 – 2025 period. “I believe you will carry out your duties the best you can according to the responsibility mandated,” Prof. Jamal states.
Since established in 1976, KPRI UNS is now 45 years old. In this time, the KPRI UNS keeps on growing to be a better grassroots organization. However, it can not be avoided that until now, the KPRI UNS growth still relies on two main businesses, namely savings and loans, and shops. Therefore, Prof. Jamal encourages the administrators and supervisory board of the KPRI UNS to establish innovations in managing the business operation of the KPRI UNS. Even more, Prof. Jamal states that KPRI needs to initiate modernization and digitization of cooperative management.
“I greatly wish that along with this new management, cooperation modernization and digitization can be accelerated to implement faster and more dynamic cooperation activities,” Prof. Jamal wished.
According to Prof. Jamal, KPRI UNS needs to change its understanding, policies, and its organizational norms to elevate members’ economic potential. Further, Prof. Jamal suggested the new administrators and supervisory board to held an Education and Training to improve the Human Resource-based policy, especially related to economic literacy, finance, and modern business model within the cooperation.the KPRI UNS will also need business collaboration with the business practitioners or other cooperations.
“However, all innovations must be based on the cooperation identity by implementing the cooperative principles and values and are based on familial principles,” Prof. Jamal concluded. Humas UNS
