UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, opened the Eid Al-Fitr 1442 H Silaturahim between the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UNS, Bureau Research and Innovation (RisNov) UNS, and Bureau Research and Community Service (RPM) UNS on Wednesday (19/5/2021) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting.
The Expert Staff for the Minister of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) RI in Communication and Mass Media, Prof. Widodo Muktiyo; Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, Chief of LPPM UNS, Prof. Okid Parama Atsirin, and the Secretary of LPPM UNS, Prof. Syamsul Hadi, also attended the event.
In his remark, Prof. Jamal invited all participants to build good communication among LPPM UNS, Bureau of RisNov UNS, and Bureau RPM. He added that even though this gathering should be limited through an online platform due to the pandemic, he invited the family of LPPM UNS, Bureau RisNov UNS, Bureau RPM to bring a new meaning into the new normal by connecting back to Allah.
“We are weak, vulnerable, and empty without our connection to (Allah) wherever we are. We also learn how to connect our hearts with one another, students, colleagues, and families,” Prof. Jamal stated.
The Caretaker of Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes)(Islamic Boarding School) Al-Muayyad Windan, Sukoharjo, Drs. KH. Mohammad Dian Nafi, M.Pd, was invited to this special occasion to deliver a religious lecture. In his speech, KH. Mohammad Dian Nafi encouraged the three institutes to build a better relationship with faithful people. Referring to Prof. Widodo Muktiyo’s statement, KH. Mohammad Dian Nafi reminded the participants that humans live in communication and not the contrary.
The Islamic scholar also quoted Qur’an surah Al Hujurat:10 which mentioned that faithful people are families. Thus, they are encouraged to mend relationships among themselves and obey Allah. Silaturahim should be held to maintain friendship and positive relationships. He added that Ibn Al Atsir once stated that silaturahmi maintains the goodness (ihsan) to families, maintains good communication, compassion, and monitors their behavior, including when they do something wrong and when they move away.
