UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students achieved another accomplishment at the national level. This time three Agribusiness Program Faculty of Agriculture (FP) UNS won the 1st prize in the National Business Plan Competition Sination 2021. The Edelwise team – their team name – became the best among other universities such as Telkom University, Universitas Negeri Jember (Unej), and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB).
These three students are Nafa Laila Wahidah, Leni Irawati, and Laily Syafqia Putri. They submitted a business on “Story-Go: Playing Card Based on QR Code, Interactive and Integrated Learning Media for Children,” inspired by the low learning spirit observed by the team. Their business plan was prepared as a solution in creating exciting learning method that supports children development. Story-Go also assists parents in accompanying their children when they are studying.
To uns.ac.id, Nafa Laila, as the team leader, explained that they used technology development to create a game that could assist learning programs. Therefore, when children are busy with their phones, they will have an opportunity to learn from that activities. The cards have pictures and letters. Children are prompted to make a study based on the card. The program also contains rewards and punishment cards to increase gaming experience and e-learning content with educative stories.
“We hope that these cards can be used to improve verbal-linguistic skills, cognitive, creative, and children’s self-confident,” Nafa Laila explained on Sunday (26/9/2021).
The preparation and all competition stages took two months to complete. The team was grateful for their accomplishment and hoped that their business could be realized and benefit the community. Business Plan Competition Sination 2021 was held by Student Association in Agricultural Economy (HIMASETA) Agribusiness Program FP UNEJ. The theme of this competition was “Be a Creative, Integrated, and Strong Young Entrepreneur in Digital Revolution Era” to facilitate creative young entrepreneurs with integrity and strong will in creating innovative works.
