UNS — The Library of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta received a visit and an initiation for collaboration from the Library of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Raden Mas Said Surakarta. This collaboration aimed to improve institutional relations between the UNS Library and the UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Library. The visit from UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta was warmly welcomed by the UNS Library and took place on Thursday (27/7/2023).
Head of UNS Library, Burhanudin Harahap S.H., M.H., M.Sc., Ph.D., welcomed the visit from UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Library, represented by Syihabumilla, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum., as the Head of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Library. Burhanudin Harahap S.H., M.H., M.SI., Ph.D., delivered his welcoming remarks regarding the visit by the Head of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Library Unit. “We hope that this collaboration can optimize the use of the library by students, lecturers, and other librarians, both from the surrounding community and librarians from outside who visit the UNS Library. We are pleased to assist librarians who care about literacy,” Burhanuddin explained.
Syihabumilla, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum., expressed hopes regarding the forthcoming collaboration. “With this collaboration, we hope to receive guidance regarding improved library services, library development, the development of human resources (HR) particularly in the library field, the development of literacy materials and skills, as well as support and search for sources of information and library collections, both in information technology-based and communication-based forms, both print and non-print (e-resources),” Syihabumilla said.
The collaboration between UNS Library and UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Library would last for a period of five years starting with the signing of this Cooperation Agreement (PKS). If both parties agree to extend, modify, or terminate the cooperation agreement according to the specified time period, it can be achieved through mutual agreement.
At the end of the discussion, the Coordinator of the Cooperation Division of UNS Library, Achmad Nur Chamdi, S.Pt., M.Sc., conveyed the mechanism related to the monitoring and evaluation of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) that would be implemented in stages.
“This Cooperation Agreement will be evaluated gradually every year, which will be used as input for program planning and future work plans. Through this collaboration between the two library parties, there will be mutual symbiosis that benefits each other. This also embodies the concrete implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education,” he said. *Humas UNS*
