UNS – Once again, the students of the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering (FT) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta had achieved a proud accomplishment. They were Oasis Ridho Ilahi, Annisa Shafia M., and Bagas Trio Wahyu S. and had made it to the finals of the Wiswakharman Expo 2023 (WEX).
The competition was organized by the Student Family of Architectural Engineering (KMTA) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. Oasis Ridho Ilahi, who is familiarly called Acis, said that in this competition, they redesigned an open space in Kampung Jogoyudan, Yogyakarta. Through this design, they aimed to restore the essence of Tribina to society.
“We created the building design based on the site survey results we conducted. The main concept that we introduced was human growth by providing facilities for all people in the village. Our design also considers sustainability aspects, including environment, social, and economic aspects, with the proposed programs,” he explained as quoted from ft.uns.ac.id on Wednesday (2/8/2023).
Through this design, Acis and his team successfully qualified to become the top 10 finalists out of the 58 teams that participated in the competition. Even though they haven’t won the championship yet, reaching the final stage among dozens of teams deserves appreciation.
“Our hope, especially regarding the design’s outcomes, is that the community and the relevant authorities can understand and align with what the community feels along with the solutions that should accommodate them,” he concluded. Humas UNS
