UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta became the only public university in Indonesia to be listed in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2022. This ranking becomes a lovely gift for UNS 46th Anniversary.
The Director of Partnership, Development, and International UNS, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, Ph.D., stated that UNS was ranked 401+ worldwide in THE Young University Rankings 2022.
“In total, there are 539 universities listed in this ranking. This rank is special because UNS becomes the only public university in Indonesia included in the ranking,” Prof. Irwan explained on Wednesday (16/2/2022).
The private universities ranked together with UNS in THE Young University Rankings 2022 are Universitas Bina Nusantara (BINUS University) and Universitas Telkom (Telkom University).
Prof. Irwan added that THE Young University Rankings is a ranking for universities that are 50 years or younger. THE, the UK-based institution conducting the ranking, determined various indicators for universities ranked in their program.
The indicators are teaching (30%), research (30%), citations/research influence (30%), international outlook (7.5%), and industry income (2.5%).
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, shared that he was delighted with the UNS ranking in THE Young University 2022. He offered his gratitude to all support and prayers from UNS academic members who continuously contribute to the campus’ development at the international level.
“Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, praise to Allah, thank you for all the dedication for UNS,” Prof. Jamal stated.
He added that even though UNS is considered young, it has a multitude of achievements. Before being ranked in 401+ THE Young University Rankings 2022, UNS was ranked 6th in Indonesia and 1144th worldwide according to Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2022. Humas UNS
