UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta received another proud achievement in the national debate competition through the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), who won the 1st prize in the Indonesian Language Debate Competition for FKIP Students in Indonesia. UNS Team consisted of Kamsu Aji Wiguna (Economy Education Program 2018) and Zalfaa Azalia Pursita (Special Education 2018) on the Festa (Festival Edukasi Tahunan Mahasiswa) held by Communication Forum (Forkom) FKIP in Indonesia.
FKIP UNS sent off three teams: UNS A, UNS B, and UNS C team that all entered the quarter-final round. But only UNS A team won over the 45 competing teams in the competition. Zalfaa said that she was delighted with the result and that their achievement was possible with all the training and prayers they had. “Delighted and touched! Did not expect to win the 1st place,” she stated on Monday (11/9/2021).
Zalfaa added that her team trained with the alumnus of the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS. Their training and supports from Ellisa Indriyani, S.Pd., M.Hum., and Dr. Septi Yulisetiani, M.Pd., as her supervisor, plays a great role in their accomplishment. Their hard works brought home not only the 1st prize, but also the 1st to 4th best speakers, Kamsu Aji Wiguna won the 1st Best Speaker, Akhmad Mukhibun (Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program 2019) won the 2nd Best Speaker, Farah Yuki Prasetyawati (Physic Education Program 2018) won the 3rd place, and Zalfaa Azalia Pursita won the 4th place.
Zalfaa added that she is grateful to be able to the productive amid the pandemic. “Even amid the pandemic, we could stay active through positive activities like this debate competition that train us to think critically and speak fluently in public. I am also thankful for having fellows who think like them. It reminds me of the challenges to find a match schedule for training together, to meet in Building A FKIP for the competition,” Zalfaa concluded. Humas UNS
