UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta officially extend its partnership with National Central University (NCU) Taiwan on Tuesday (28/9/2021). The extension ceremony that was held online through the Zoom Cloud Meeting was attended by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M. Si., and the President of NCU, Prof. Jing-Yang Jou.
This extension will be effective for five years with outcome targets of academic activities improvement between UNS and NCU. Both universities agreed to implement several programs of student exchange, research, and dissemination of study findings.
Prof. Sajidan shared his appreciation for the academic partnership between UNS and NCU as a leading university in Taiwan and Asia. This collaboration is also expected to improve future research quality.
“We are fully aware that in the global world, collaboration with inter-countries universities is vital, especially to improve education quality that we provide to our students to meet the international standard,” Prof. Sajidan stated.
Prof. Sajidan also appreciated the success of programs that have been conducted in the previous partnership starting in 2016. The programs were student exchange, research collaboration, and contribution for UNS faculty members in pursuing their Ph.D. in NCU. Prof. Sajidan hoped that this partnership would strengthen the close relationship between UNS and NCU.
The President of NCU, Prof. Jing-Yang Jou, shared his delight in the active collaboration between UNS and NCU. Including the partnership in civil engineering and mechanical engineering. Prof Jing-Yang Jou also mentioned that many UNS students came to NCU for their master’s and doctoral programs.
In his remark, Prof Jing-Yang Jou also hoped for more collaboration between the universities in the future.
“Our connection is very strong even though we could not visit one another due to the Covid-19. We keep trying to interact through an online meeting. So, we appreciated the MoU signing ceremony with UNS today,” Prof Jing-Yang Jou stated. Humas UNS
