UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta explores the possibility of collaboration with various institutions, both private companies and government institutions. This time, UNS collaborates with PT. QIS Indonesia Sejahtera through a memorandum of the understanding signing ceremony on Thursday (12/8/2021).
The collaboration is also signed between PT. QIS Indonesia Sejahtera and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD), particularly with the Visual Communication Design Program (DKV) that cover the field of communication science and DKV. Therefore, it is expected that students could gain real-world experience from this collaboration.
The signing ceremony was held through the Zoom Cloud Meeting. This moment was attended directly by the Co-Founder QIS Group, Kun Wahyu Winasis, and the executive board of PT. QIS Indonesia Sejahtera and Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M. Si., Dean of FISIP UNS, Prof. Dr. Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni, M.Si., Dean of FSRD UNS, Dr. Rahmanu Widayat, M.Sn., and executive board of university and faculty.
“This (collaboration) aims to improve both parties’ performance. Hopefully, the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program will benefit the nation. Also, to improve our students and alumni’s competencies to enter the working world, industrial, and business world,” Prof. Sajidan stated. Prof. Sajidan also hopes that the collaboration could facilitate students to gain knowledge, technology, and entrepreneurial characters and get ready to enter the workplace as the main focus of the MBKM program that strengthens the main competencies.
The Dean of FISIP UNS, Prof. Dr. Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni, M.Si., stated that collaboration is vital to shaping an excellent young generation. Therefore, faculty should be committed to improving their collaboration with external parties. She also hopes that the partnership could fully shape FISIP students into future leaders and that FISIP is committed to ensuring that their graduates are excellent future leaders. To achieve this objective, Prof. Ismi considers that students should grow and build a network with outstanding institutions. Therefore, she hopes that the collaboration could extend to other programs in FISIP UNS.
The Dean of FSRD UNS, Dr. Rahmanu Widayat, M.Sn, also shared his expectation that the partnership could help students prepare themselves and complete their final assignments. Therefore, after completing their intern, students could prepare their final assignment and complete their studies on time. In his opening remark, Kun Wahyu Winasi thanked UNS for the partnership and hoped that this partnership could bring optimum results according to the agreed outcomes. “I hope what we have now will benefit the campus,” Kun Wahyu Winasi stated.
