UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held blood donor and Covid-19 survivor screening for UNS academic members in the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) Auditorium on Wednesday (8/9/2021). This event was held by the collaboration of Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) UNS, FK Alumni Association, and Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Surakarta.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, and the Major of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, also attended the event. Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Vice-Rector for Management and Human Resources Affairs, Prof. Bandi, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, and Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, Director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Hartono and the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, also attended the occasion.
In her opening remark, the Chief of DWP UNS, Budhi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho, S.E., stated that this blood donor is a routine agenda of DWP UNS.
“This occasion is conducted every month, in the future, (we scheduled) on the 11th of each month,” she stated.
The Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, also welcomed this routine occasion.
“There are humanitarian values in blood donation. Moreover, UNS in Benteng Pancasila Campus, it is (blood donation) is strongly associated with Pancasila,” Prof. Reviono said.
Concluding his remark, Prof. Reviono read a pantun for the participants.
“Masa muda penuh gairah, tapi jangan bertindak asusila. Kita sukseskan Gerakan donor darah, di UNS Kampus Benteng Pancasila, (in youth full of spirits, do not commit immoral behaviour. We participated in blood donation, in UNS Benteng Pancasila Campus),” he closed.
Prof. Yunus, as the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, also added that this occasion could be integrated with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program.
“We are tasked to develop MBKM to be more friendly, lively, and big. This blood donation can be integrated with the blood donation from Volunteer Corps (KSR) UNS. Hopefully, this donation can be centralized and grow bitter,” he hoped. Humas UNS
