UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta contingent achieved great success by winning three gold medals in International Virtual Pencak Silat Championship 2021. UNS representatives won three categories: women’s singles, women’s team, and men’s team from the four contested categories. UNS Contingent B also won one silver medal in the women’s team and a bronze medal in women’s single.
In the competition held to commemorate UNS 45th Anniversary, UNS sent two contingents. Contingent A won three gold medals from women’s single (Anisa Nugraha Ningtyas), women’s team (Avona Rara Safitri, Mutiara Nurul Khotimah, Lintang Rikke Hapsari), and men’s team (Ardan Syaifudin, Bayu Triono, Zulfikri Maulana Hafidz). Contingent B won one silver medal from the women’s team (Riska Indriaswuri, Hasna Salekha, Adelia Rahma Danty) and one bronze medal from women’s single (Deboretta Indriaulia). These achievements exceeded the target set by UNS Pencak Silat student association manager, Dr. Rony Syaifullah S.Pd., M.Pd.
“This exceeds our target. We targeted two golds from international juries with their objective assessments,” Dr. Rony stated.
These achievements are the result of the athletes’ hard work for two months, even during Ramadan. “From the four contested categories, UNS won three. One gold went to Thailand’s athlete. We hope these three golds contribute to UNS achievements, especially in meeting the IKU (Key Performance Indicator) of UNS,” he added.
