UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta emphasized its commitment to solving the death of Gilang Endi Saputra, a UNS student who died in Basic Education and Training (Diklatsar) of Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 Jagal Abilawa UNS or Student Regiment (Menwa) UNS.
Following the UNS student’s action in front of dr. Prakosa Building UNS on Monday (1/11/2021), UNS provided options for students who have data and information surrounding the violence that occurred in all student associations in UNS. This information was shared by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Tuesday (2/11/2021).
“For those who have data and supporting information, please open it to the team as a consideration in the evaluation,” Prof. Yunus stated.
The Executive Board of UNS appointed a member from the evaluation team from the Faculty of Medical Science (FK), Chief of Academic Bureau and Student Affairs, and Vice-Dean 1 of Vocational School (SV) UNS, to meet Gilang Endi Saputra’s family to provide health care assistance for the family members on Monday (1/11/2021).
“The Team from UNS met Sunardi, the victim’s father, and three family members. The victim’s family welcomed our offer for assistance. Regarding the schedule for the assistance/counseling, they will coordinate with family members who need it,” he added.
The evaluation team also keeps monitoring the development of the incident reporting in the mass and social media. Including the upload in @putri_yudianti Twitter account on the Menwa incident in 2013, which was used by the students as a basis for the solidarity actions.
On Monday (1/11/2021) UNS Academic and Student Bureau, Drs. Rohman Agus Pratomo has contacted the account owner to hold a discussion with the evaluation team regarding the information she shared in her account, but @putri_yudianti has not expressed her willingness. Humas UNS
