UNS – The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta recently held a workshop on the topic “Psychologist in Court.” This event was conducted in a hybrid format, taking place both at the UNS Inn and via Zoom Cloud Meeting. A total of 77 participants attended the workshop, both online and offline, including academics, students, government officials, and practitioners.
Dr. Aditya Nanda Priyatama, S.Psi., M.Si., the Acting Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs at the Faculty of Psychology UNS, delivered the opening remarks and inaugurated the event. He stated that the workshop aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the role of psychologists in the judicial system. The event featured interactive sessions, case study discussions, and question-and-answer sessions.
He added that forensic psychology is increasingly developing in Indonesia. Through this event, participants were expected to gain a deeper understanding of forensic psychology in the judicial field, including its roles and methods. The forensic psychological examination process is based on psychological perspectives, both for perpetrators and victims of crimes.

The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Noor Aishah Binti Rosli from CPC International Sdn. Bhd. Assessment, Diagnosis, and Intervention Malaysia. Dr. Noor Aishah is a clinical child psychologist, certified clinical mental health counselor, court advocate, author, and academic. In Malaysia, she is one of the psychologists specializing in forensic psychology.
The “Psychologist in Court” workshop was conducted in two sessions. The first session covered the definition, key aspects, objectives, ethical principles, and practices in forensic psychology. The second session focused on psychological assessment within the legal domain.
During the second session, Dr. Noor Aishah explained various types of cases related to forensic psychology. She provided examples such as custody disputes, marriage cases, educational issues, sexual abuse, and other cases. She also detailed the stages involved in court proceedings and shared her experiences as a forensic psychologist handling various judicial cases in Malaysia.
