UNS — Center for Excellence in Science and Technology (PUI) for Higher Education (PT) Center for Fintech and Banking Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS Fintech Center) conducted community service by providing basic digital financial planning training for families. The activity in collaboration with Jati Village, Udanawu District, Blitar Regency was held on Friday (9/6/2023).
This community service was chaired by Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, whose members were Taufiq Arifin, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D, Ak and Nugroho Saputro, S.E., M.Ec.Dev.
Prof. Irwan Trinugroho said that this activity was attended by 30 mothers from Jati Village, Udanawu District, Blitar Regency. “Family financial management that is not properly managed can become a serious issue among Indonesian people. As the proverb says, don’t let the peg be bigger than a pole, which means not having a lifestyle that goes beyond your financial capacity,” Prof. Irwan explained.
Prof. Irwan hopes that through this activity people can start implementing digital basic financial management as early as possible in their households. It is about keeping simple financial records so that you can recognize investment instruments and start investing to prepare for retirement.
This service presented two speakers, namely Fadli Septianti. S.E., MSM and Nugroho Saputro, S.E., M.Ec.Dev. Both sources emphasized that families need to do financial planning. This is because humans have a productive period for earning money and also a retirement period. Then proceed with providing an explanation for choosing the type of investment and regarding the importance of investing in productive times so that it can be taken in retirement.
“Technological developments are increasingly massive with the emergence of financial technology which is the use of technology that provides more efficient finances that can be utilized by the community to carry out family financial planning,” Nugroho Saputro, S.E., M.Ec.Dev. explained.
