Commemorating the birth of Pancasila 2023 with the theme “Gotong Royong Membangun Peradaban dan Pertumbuhan Global” (Community Collaboration to Build Civilization and Global Growth). On this occasion, the Interim Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S., acted as the ceremony supervisor.

In his remarks, Prof. Yunus said that the true founders of the nation came from various groups, classes and backgrounds. They established Pancasila as a unifier for all differences. Pancasila was born to be the philosophy and foundation of a solid state.

Pancasila is the foundation for building a united, sovereign, just and prosperous Indonesia,” Prof. Yunus said.

Furthermore, he emphasized that Pancasila is a principle in carrying out the Indonesian government at all times. Until now Pancasila has been considered relevant in the midst of dynamics. Pancasila principles need to be maintained, especially within UNS, in all state activities.

“In the midst of the dense activities in carrying out our duties, let’s take a moment to reflect and understand the philosophy that is the soul of the Indonesian state,” he said.

Prof. Yunus explained that generally Pancasila contains five basic universal values, namely divinity, humanity, diversity, democracy and social justice. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) also compiled a “Profil Pelajar Pancasila” which embodies Indonesian students as lifelong learners.

Finally, with the spirit of unity, mutual cooperation, and collaboration between fields of knowledge, Prof. Yunus believes that UNS will continue to be able to make achievements that are beneficial for the development of people’s civilization.
