UNSUniversitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Hospital in Surakarta initiated the launch of the Integrity Zone (ZI) on Thursday (27/6/2024). The event, held in person at the UNS Hospital Auditorium, marked the hospital’s commitment to strengthening and enhancing the quality of public services.

The Integrity Zone commitment aims to achieve Corruption-Free Zones (WBK) and Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Zones (WBBM) through bureaucratic reform. UNS Hospital is dedicated to establishing a clean and accountable bureaucracy while upholding excellent public service standards.

The launch event was attended by various internal and external stakeholders. The Acting Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs at UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S., was present alongside the Acting Director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., and the hospital’s board of directors. Representatives from the Surakarta and Sukoharjo Attorney’s Offices, the Surakarta and Sukoharjo Health Departments, Kartosuro Police Sector, BPJS Surakarta Branch, and partner banks also attended.

In his remarks, Prof. Hartono explained that the presence of numerous parties was to witness UNS Hospital’s commitment to achieving the WBK/WBBM Integrity Zone. He urged the hospital community to sincerely fulfill their responsibilities to the state, society, and God Almighty. Achieving WBK at UNS Hospital will lead to the realization of WBBM.

“This is our (UNS Hospital’s) earnest commitment. Certainly, this is not an easy task. We are fulfilling the mandate of the law, coordinating with university and hospital leadership,” Prof. Hartono stated.

Prof. Ahmad Yunus noted that UNS Hospital is the second teaching hospital to propose an Integrity Zone, following UGM Hospital. On behalf of the UNS leadership, he expressed hope for more efficient and effective services. The hospital community pays great attention to the public satisfaction index.

“Hopefully, today’s launch of UNS Hospital as an Integrity Zone marks the beginning of cooperation among all components of UNS Hospital to jointly achieve WBK and WBBM status. We, along with the bureaucratic reform team, will accompany UNS Hospital on its journey to build the Integrity Zone towards WBK and WBBM,” Prof. Yunus said.

Following the remarks, the event continued with the Declaration of the Integrity Zone Launch. The declaration was led by Prof. Hartono, who also serves as the Chair of the UNS Hospital Integrity Zone. The hospital community then signed the Integrity Pact as part of the Integrity Zone Launch.

With this launch, UNS Hospital is ready to serve the community professionally, free from corruption, and transparently, in line with the UNS Hospital Integrity Zone slogan: “Clean, Sincere, Serving.”
