UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted the Consolidation of Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of Public Information Transparency for State Universities (PTN) in 2023. The event took place at the Auditorium G.P.H. Haryo Mataram UNS, Thursday (27/7/2023). On this occasion, the Coordinator of Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) invited the heads of work units within the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology (Diktiristek), Directorate General of Vocational Education (Diksi), Academic and Vocational of State Universities.

The head committee representative, Emi Salpiati from the Berau of Cooperation and Public Relations at Kemendikbudristek (BKHM), reported that the event was held with the participation of 120 academic and vocational state universities within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. There were 153 confirmed participants attending this event.

This consolidation presented competent speakers in the field of public information transparency of monitoring and evaluation, including Commissioner of the Central Information Commission (KIP), Rospita Vici Paulyn, and KIP expert team member, Anie Londa.

Emi added that the main objective of the Monev Consolidation Public Information Transparency 2023 is to equalize the perceptions of state universities within Kemendikbudristek in filling out instruments for the 2023 Monev Public Information Transparency held by KIP.

“By holding this event, we hope that the State Universities participating in Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Information Disclosure 2023 will qualify as ‘Informative’ PTNs and provide the best services for the Indonesian community, particularly in the fields of education, culture, research, and technology,” Emi Salpiati said.

Furthermore, Kemendikbudristek’s Berau of Cooperation and Public Relations encouraged PTNs that have not participated in the Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Information Transparency held by the Central Information Commission to participate in the Self-Assessment of Public Information Transparency within Kemendikbudristek, which will be held in the near future.

In his representation of the Secretary General of Kemendikbudristek, Anang Ristanto, S.E., M.A. (the Acting Head of BKHM), highlighted several important key points of this event. Firstly, Anang Ristanto appreciated KIP for organizing the Public Information Transparency of Monitoring and Evaluation for the Ministry and State Universities.

Based on the assessment results of the Central Information Commission in 2022, 23 academic state universities obtained the qualifications of “Informative Public Body”, 11 were “Public Body Towards Informative”, 3 were “Sufficiently Informative Public Body”, 8 were “Less Informative Public Body”, and 30 were “Non-Informative Public Body”.

Anang emphasized that this Monev event not only measured the extent of public information services provided to the community but also indirectly assessed the impact and benefits for the Indonesian community through accountable public information delivery.

“I request all leaders of state universities to be more committed, participate, and support the implementation of public information transparency on their respective campuses so that we can provide optimal services to the public and engage the public in the success of various programs and policies in Kemendikbudristek ,” Anang Ristanto said.

The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., attended the event and stated that state universities have become crucial public institutions in society. They have a substantial role in carrying out the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (the three main duties of higher education) to support the nation’s development. Therefore, universities have an obligation to provide transparent and open information services to the public.

He thanked the the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations at Kemendikbudristek for entrusting UNS to host the Monev Consolidation of Public Information Transparency for State Universities in 2023. He also expressed his gratitude to the speakers and invited guests present at the event.
