UNS – Career Development Center (CDC) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held UNS Solo Job Fair XXV. In this 25th edition, the Job Fair had the theme “Break the Limit, Beyond Imagination”. The event took place in two places at once, namely the Auditorium G.P.H. Haryo Mataram and the UNS Student Center Building.
The Job Fair lasts for two days, namely 10-11 May 2023. The activity targets job seekers with high school to undergraduate educational backgrounds. This edition of the Job Fair is more special because the event is already running on a hybrid basis. This is because the Covid-19 Pandemic then caused the previous edition of the Job Fair to run online.
The UNS Job Fair also played a role in supporting the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU), namely the first IKU. This IKU focuses on the percentage of undergraduate and diploma graduates who successfully find a job, continue their studies, or become self-employed.
“(Job Fair) as effort to support the IKU 1 program,” Dr. Kusnandar said as head of CDC UNS.
There were 26 companies and institutions participating in this event. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) and PT Pegadaian were the sponsors of this UNS Job Fair. Apart from providing a forum for students, the UNS Job Fair also provides an opportunity for participating companies and institutions to get the best talents that UNS has.
UNS Solo Job Fair XXV was opened by the Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.Sc.; the Head of CDC UNS, Dr. Ir. Kusnandar, M.Sc.; the Director for Cooperation, Development and Internationalization UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Moh. Harisudin, M.Sc.; and PT KAI’s Executive Vice President of Personal Care, Control and Development, Ida Hidayati.
Prof. Yunus in his speech asked partner companies and institutions not to hesitate in accepting UNS graduates to be part of them. This is because UNS has screened thousands of prospective students to be able to pursue tertiary education here. In addition, starting this year UNS will hold a graduation once every month. This is certainly good news where there will be new competent graduates once a month at UNS.
“Close cooperation between universities and the business world and the industrial world will really help accelerate the absorption of our young generation’s work,” Prof. Yunus said.
CDC UNS also facilitates campus hiring for partner companies or institutions that need UNS graduates outside of Job Fair activities. The recruitment process can take place independently at all times. Through the cdc.uns.ac.id page, CDC UNS provides a forum for communication between companies and UNS alumni. Humas UNS
