UNS – The Community Service Program (KKN) students from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta were warmly welcomed by the leadership of Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Friday (12/7/2024). They met with the Regent of Bima, Indah Dhamayanti Putri, S.E., M.I.P., and the Deputy Regent of Bima, Drs. Dahlan M. Noer at the Asi Mbojo Museum Courtyard. The 14 students, forming one team, will conduct their KKN activities in Sangiang Village, Wera District, Bima.

The Regent of Bima was accompanied by Acting Regional Secretary Suwandi, S.T., M.T.; Assistant I to the Regional Secretariat, Fatahullah, S.P.d.; Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), also Research and Development (Litbang), Taufik S.T., M.T.; and Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Drs. Israh, along with several heads of departments from the Regional Secretariat.

Regent Indah Dhamayanti Putri expressed her hope that the UNS KKN students would make a tangible contribution to accelerating development. The students will engage in community service for 45 days, immersing themselves in the lives of the people of Sangiang Village.

“During the KKN, participants are expected to be good ambassadors, ensuring their presence among the community and transferring the beneficial knowledge they have gained from the university,” Indah said.

Additionally, Suwandi elaborated on the technical aspects of Bima’s natural resources, particularly in Wera District and Sangiang Village. He stated that Bima Regency, especially Wera District, has abundant agricultural potential that can be developed. Addressing the UNS KKN students, he emphasized the importance of KKN in implementing the knowledge imparted by the lecturers.

“Therefore, the presence of KKN students is expected to introduce innovations and post-harvest agricultural management techniques that can add value to the local economy,” he said.

The UNS KKN team is led by Yusuf Darmawan from the Faculty of Medicine (FK). Dr.rer.nat. Nurhadi, S.Ant., M.Hum., from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), serves as the field supervisor for the UNS KKN in Bima and is also the Head of the KKN Implementing Unit at UNS.

The team members include Burhanuddin Al Ghiffari from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, FKIP; Al Diva Zain Farras Saputra from the Faculty of Law (FH); Lamganda Dionicius Hasugian, Alisha Berylnova Saptomo, Auliya Abdil Azizah, Alya Nur Rachmah, and Muhamad Amirul Haq from the Food Science and Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture (FP); Naafi’atul Laksmita Maharani, Nabila Putri Fatimah, Haris Darmansyah, Rahmad Zulfikar Bramayuda, Tatum Aurora Amantha Melvin, Yusuf Darmawan, and Rizki Amelia Faujiah from the Faculty of Medicine (FK).
