UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta opens international class programs for undergraduate students for this 2021/2022 academic year. The policy to start an international class is responding to the global challenges and as part of UNS commitment to enhancing learning quality toward the achievement of the World Class University (WCU). Two study programs, the Accounting Study Program and Development Economics Study Program from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) are ready to implement the international class program.

The Head of Bachelor in Accounting Study Program FEB UNS, Agung Nur Probohudono, Ph.D., states that the international class is a short bachelor program in collaboration with the Curtin University. By joining the program students have the opportunity to join various excellent activities such as student exchange, Summer Course program, Double Degree Program, Visiting Professor Lecture, and many other international events. The students will also get the chance to learn in a better environment with a more supportive and representative classroom. “Moreover, students will earn international study experience and international recognition,” explains Dr. Agung on Sunday (4/7/2021).

Meanwhile, the Head of Bachelor in Development Economics Study Program, FEB UNS, Bhimo Rizky Samudro, Ph.D., states that the program will shape graduates with strong character, creativity, have high reasoning ability, and highly competent in facing the globalization challenges. Students of international class can apply through the independent funding scheme (Swadana) or applying for a scholarship provided by UNS.

”The international class aims to attract students who wish to get international learning experience by joining lectures that are taught in English. Both study programs (the Development Economics and Accounting) will accommodate 25 students for the 2021/2022 academic year,” Dr. Bhimo said.

As for the general requirements to apply for the program are, Indonesian citizen, graduated from High School/Vocational High School/other equivalent levels by the latest three years before application, and have a suitable health condition as to not interfere with their study. Registering as a participant in UNS Independent Admission Scheme. Meanwhile, the specific requirements for the international class are participating in the 2021 UTBK organized by the LTMPT, fluent in English proved with TOEFL/IELTS score, and participated in the interview process. The registration to the Independent Admission Program for the International Bachelor Class is open from 15 June to 10 July 2021 and can be accessed at https://spmb.uns.ac.id. Humas UNS
