UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho expresses his appreciation to the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) academic members who participated in the Ballet Performance organized by the Surakarta City Culture Office in Balekambang Stage Surakarta, Friday (25/6/2021). The performance shows the real participation from the FK UNS in the Ramayana Ballet Performance entitled “Alengka Kaobar Dahana.”
“We must appreciate the effort because all of the participation from the FK UNS academic members is part of the participation in preserving the noble culture of the Indonesian nation,” said Prof. Jamal in his remarks. Further, Prof. Jamal states that the 3rd Gladhi Beksan will promote the competencies of the FK UNS faculty members aside from the medical and health sector. “They want to prove to the public their competencies in performing Ramayana Ballet Performance and presenting an epic performance that tells of the integrity and loyalty of the Hanoman to bring Sinta home,” Prof. Jamal added.
As previously reported, the 3rd Colossal Ballet Performance Gladhi Beksan with Ramayana Ballet Dance “Alengka Kaobar Dahana,” was attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal, the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, and the Director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Hartono.
The performers of this epic ballet performance consisted of the FK UNS faculty members, academic support staff, students, Dharma Wanita Persatuan UNS, non-FK UNS academic members, and UNS alumni. The Chairperson of GBFK, dr. Maryani, M.Si. SpMK., states that the Ramayana Performance aims to facilitate dance studios and traditional dance clubs in Surakarta and its surrounding regions.
“The GBFK UNS also participated in the previous 2019 performance entitled “Sinta Ilang,” this time, we presented the “Anoman Obong” arc. The arc tells the heroism of Hanoman in defending the truth, namely helping Rama to free Sinta from Ravana captive. The episode ended with a scene of Hanoman burns the earth of Alengka,” dr.
