Previously, on 7 March 2023, UNS also inaugurated five professors simultaneously as part of the university’s anniversary celebration. The title of professor carries two main roles in universities: fostering a good academic culture in research and teaching, as well as contributing to the advancement of knowledge.
“On behalf of myself and the leadership of UNS, I extend my congratulations and best wishes for achieving the highest academic position of Professor,” Prof. Jamal said.
Prof. Jamal, representing the entire academic community of UNS, is eagerly awaiting the meaningful contributions, important roles, and intellectual contributions of the professors for the advancement of knowledge and the nation’s civilization. The position of professor is associated with academic leadership. A professor is required to have a long-term orientation toward synergizing and integrating the Three Pillars of Higher Education in every aspect of their scholarly activities.
Prof. Jamal is optimistic that the addition of new professors is an indication of positive developments in the dynamics of knowledge and the promotion process at UNS. Furthermore, he is pleased with the initiative, enthusiasm, and attention of UNS faculty in expediting the promotion process for professor positions. Prof. Jamal is optimistic that the UNS’s target of having 10% of its faculty as professors by the end of 2023 will be achieved. This is considering that the percentage of UNS professors has already reached 9.71% as of today.
“I am confident that the target of having 10% of UNS professors by the end of 2023 will be achieved. As of today, the percentage of UNS professors is already at 9.71%, and we are also awaiting the inauguration of 14 more professors in the near future,” he said .
Concluding his remarks, he hopes that the successful journeys of these professors will inspire and motivate other young UNS lecturers. This achievement will indirectly open up greater opportunities for UNS to pursue a prominent ranking in both national and global university rankings.
