UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta build an international partnership with Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar. The partnership was marked with an online collaboration agreement signing ceremony on Tuesday (28/9/2021) by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Sajidan and the Dean of College of Islamic Studies, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Dr. Emad El-Din Shahin.
The partnership that will run for five years covers the academic fields through student exchange, guest lectures, research, and webinar. The ceremony was also attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, who provided an opening remark and appreciated the collaboration.
“This collaboration aims to improve education quality in both universities. Research collaboration among the universities is vital to balance the research condition. Through UNS PTN-BH status, UNS is committed to continuing its efforts to improve the research and science quality to the international level,” Prof. Jamal stated.
He hoped that this collaboration could create academic events that support students’ needs, such as summer school, conferences, student exchange, and other activities.
“Hopefully, in the next five years, there will be many collaborative events between UNS and Hamad Bin Khalifa University,” he added.
The Dean of the College of Islamic Studies, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, hoped that this collaboration could improve Islamic finance research in the College of Islamic Studies.
“This is a great opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to improve the research. We hope to continue various studies at local and global levels,” Dr. Emad El-Din Shahin hoped. Humas UNS
