UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed two partnership agreements with Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) Germany through the Zoom Clouds Meeting, Monday (14/6/2021). The documents signed in this ceremony were the Letter of Intent (LoI) and Exchange Agreement.
The LoI document was signed by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, and the document of Exchange Agreement was signed by Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan in UNS. At the same time, both documents were signed by Prof. Dr. Thomas Bayer as the Vice President for Internationalization and Transfer HNU in HNU Germany.
In his remark, Prof. Jamal stated his proudness for building a partnership with HNU as one of UNS international partners. He also mentioned that international collaboration is vital to improve the education quality in UNS. “Research with foreign university researchers is expected to improve UNS research quality. Therefore, we are delighted that HNU is willing to build a collaboration with UNS,” Prof. Jamal stated.
The signing of LoI marked the agreement from both universities to exchange materials and academic information, student exchange, teaching staff, and researchers, to conduct joint international conferences, joint research, and other activities to improve active collaboration between the universities. Specifically, the Exchange Agreement mentioned the reciprocal student exchange for programs offered by both universities. For example, in business, management, and industrial engineering.
The exchange program is expected to support the efforts to achieve UNS Key Performance Indicators (IKU) Activity Performance Indicators (IKK) to develop education with international qualifications and human resources with global knowledge. Especially in the number of inbound and outbound student exchange.
Prof. Jamal also hopes that the exchange program could be implemented immediately and that this collaboration with get stronger and continue for a long time. Humas UNS
