UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Tuesday (6/6/2023) evening. The signing of the MoU between UNS and KPU RI took place offline at the Grand Mercure Hotel Solo Baru.
The signing of the MoU was carried out directly by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum. He was accompanied by the Interim Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Business and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., the Head of the UNS Internal Monitoring Unit (SPI), Dr. Waluyo, S.H., M.Sc., and the Head of the UNS Center for Democracy and National Defense Studies (Pusdemtanas), Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus, S.H., M.H.
The delegation of KPU RI was represented by Hasyim Asy’ari as the chairman. He was accompanied by officials within the KPU RI and the leader of the KPU RI in Central Java Province.
In signing the MoU, UNS and KPU RI both agreed on a memorandum of understanding regarding the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education and the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (Independent Campus Learning). The purpose of agreeing on this memorandum of understanding is to synergize and optimize the potential and resources of both parties.
The scope of this agreement covers the fields of education, research and community service; organizing the MBKM program; human resource development; as well as other mutually agreed fields. This memorandum of understanding is valid for a period of five years and will be followed up through a cooperation agreement between UNS and KPU RI.
Through the signing of this MoU, Prof. Jamal is trying to implement one of the MBKM, namely the student internship program at KPU RI. He explained that UNS has quite a lot of resources to contribute, develop, and think for KPU RI.
“The MoU between UNS and KPU is an effort to continue to develop the Tridharma of higher education, namely education, research and community service,” Prof. Jamal said.
Hasyim Asy’ari explained that the KPU RI took an active role in the MBKM program. He welcomed UNS with open arms to hold practical work or internships in various KPU work units.
“The campus can assign lecturers and students wherever they come from. That way, the Tridharma of Higher Education can be carried out according to needs,” Hasyim Asy’ari said. Humas UNS
