UNS — Proud achievement was brought back by Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. Three Faculty of Agriculture (FP) UNS students won 1st place in Innovation Animal Science Competition VIII held by Animal Husbandry Faculty Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Malang. All stages of this competition were held online, from the selection process to the announcement of winners.
Three FP UNS students who brought a proud name for UNS are Thoriq Aldri Bramastya, Zaid Surya Al Rahman, and Muhammad Maulana Khasani. All of them are students of the Animal Husbandry Program. Supervised by Rendi Fathoni Hadi, S.Pt., M.Sc., they prepared a paper on the Young Generation Existence in Facing Global Challenges in Animal Husbandry Sector Amid the New Normal Era for Sustainable Development 2045. After went through challenges in the competition, at the end of June 2021, their team was announced as the 1st winner. Thoriq admitted that he felt happy with this achievement.
“It was unexpected, and we were very happy because we could carve an achievement at home and (God) answered our wish. We could bring an achievement for family, program, and campus,” Thoriq explained on Saturday (10/7/2021).
In this competition, Thoriq and his friends prepared an abstract in 3 – 4 days, followed by one week for preparing a full paper and another one week to prepare a video poster. Thoriq stated that he and his friends participated in the competition to fill their time because when the competition registration was opened, they did not have many assignments.
“Then we registered, and we got the information of this competition from a friend,” Thoriq said.
Representing his friends, Thoriq hopes that he could have a solid team and achieve more accomplishments in the future. “Moreover, with the online method, whatever looks far could be closer,” he concluded. Humas UNS
