UNS — The student association of Chemistry Education Program (Kovalen) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held social services ‘Share from Home’. The event runs for three days on Saturday – Monday (5-7/9/2020) in 122 different locations. The chairman of the committee, Iqbal Candra Maulana stated that the event is a series of Kovalen Care which is held regularly annually. Initially, this event was held offline but due to the pandemic, Kovalen Care this year was held online and offline.
The Kovalen Care was held in Ngebung Village, Kalijambe Subdistrict, Sragen on 5 September. The event includes the distribution of staple foods, socialization on hand sanitizer production, healthy life, and online competition Tempat Pengajian Anak (TPA) (school for Al-Qur’an). Iqbal is grateful that during the socialization, the community is enthusiastic and listened to the delivered material. “After Ngebung Village, a similar event is also held in another 122 locations the next day,” he explained in an interview with uns.ac.id on Wednesday (9/9/2020).
In the share from the home event, HMP Kovalen distributed basic foods in the form of rice, egg, mask, instant noodle, and liquid soap to the community affected by the pandemic. They also socialized the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) in the form of a poster, installed in places that can be easily seen by the community. The share from home aims to provide benefits for the general public and the less fortunate people affected by the pandemic. As students, an event is a form of their Higher Education Tri Dharma for the community service program. Iqbal is very thankful that this event is supported not only by students in the association but also by Faculty Members in Chemistry Education Program. The 122 locations are the residence of HMP Kovalen members who live in various cities in Indonesia. In the future, Iqbal hopes that HMP Kovalen can provide more benefits for the community. Humas UNS
