UNS — Once again, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has achieved impressive accomplishments. This is due to their remarkable feat of securing three wins in the National Forum of FKIP Leaders Communication 2023 at Universitas Khairun, Ternate, North Maluku.
These outstanding achievements were presented by Aulia Akhmad Fahreza and Putriana Dafa Puspitawati, both students of the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program in Surakarta, who won second place in the Student Level Learning Media Competition; Dea Muthia Febry, a student of the Physics Education Study Program, and Esti Yulandari, a student of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, who won third place in the Student Level Indonesian Language Debate Competition; and Adlina Nur Azri, a student of the English Language Education Study Program and Denanda Nazlah Khairunnisa, a student of the Chemistry Education Study Program who won third place in the Student Level English Language Debate Competition.
Speaking to uns.ac.id, Putri and Fahreza, who won second place in the Learning Media Competition, expressed their joy and gratitude for their achievement. “We feel happy and grateful to be given the opportunity to become champions,” Putri said, speaking on behalf of the team.
Meanwhile, the learning media innovation created by Putri and Fahreza focused on color contrast, video elements, and learning materials that are combined with knowledge information, learning songs, and concluded with an interactive quiz-based learning evaluation. This results in a learning medium that is attractive to children.
Esti and Dea, who won third place in the Indonesian Language Debate Competition also shared similar sentiments. “Alhamdulillah, we are thankful for this achievement. We could contribute our best to the faculty in particular and UNS as a whole in the competition. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all parties involved, both our families and the FKIP team, who accompanied us in various aspects, including moral and financial support,” Esti said.
Furthermore, Esti shared tips and tricks that led to their victory. She emphasized that the most important aspect of a debate is understanding and mastering the topic. Therefore, extensive reading and searching for information related to the discussed issues are crucial. Additionally, practicing and sparring with other teams are effective in reducing nervousness when speaking and enhancing the overall experience.
Adlina and Denanda, who won third place in the English Language Debate Competition, also expressed their joy and gratitude for their achievement. “We are very happy and grateful for this achievement. We hope that in the future, we can continue to strive for excellence both in debate competitions and other apportunities,” Adlina said.
Lastly, Adlina and her team advised people to maintain enthusiasm and not tire of trying new things.
“Explore as many new things as possible, believe in the process, and give your best in everything you do. Stay motivated to keep learning and growing, aiming to become a better individual,” she concluded. Humas UNS
