UNS — Proud achievement was accomplished by Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta student from Geography Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS. Alvianita Maulia Fitriana, Batch 2019 student, won 3rd prize in the National Essay Competition held by Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Salatiga.
Alvianita explained that she was interested in participating in the competition because of the competition theme in education, and she wanted to hone her writing skill.
“(I) wanted to participate in the competition because (I am) interested with the theme in education, and (to) hone (my) writing skill,” Alvianita said to uns.ac.id team.
The competition was held fully online, and Alvianita was required to complete administrative requirements besides her work that were submitted through the Google Form platform. In the competition, Alvianita submitted a study on distanced learning at elementary school and junior high school to offer a fun learning model and problem-based learning as solutions for the discussed issue.
“The idea was developed from a KPAI survey that indicated distanced learning issues in 54 cities in 20 provinces in Indonesia,” Alvianita explained. Her inspirations also came from her teachers in educational courses, such as Drs. Djoko Subandriyo, M.Pd., Dr. Drs. Sugiyanto, M.Si., M.Si., and Singgih Prihadi, M.Pd. Concluding the interview, Alvianita mentioned that she hoped that her ideas could benefit the community and herself if the committee published her work. Humas UNS
