UNS — Delighting news came to Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta from its Tapak Suci Team that won the grand champion in the Virtual National Championship (Kejurnas) Tapak Suci for University Students 2021. UNS students brought home the title of grand champion after winning three gold medals, three silver medals, four bronze medals, one 1st runner-up winner, and two 2nd runner-up winners from nine competing categories.
The medalists from 26 athletes in two groups sent to the virtual championship are three golds in Single Bare Hand Women Category (Deboretta Indriaulia), Trio Women Category (Innayatullah Riun, Natasya Mega, and Diah Nurya Asih), and Trio Men Category (Tusta Syangraya, Fanda Arvialangga, and Davian Rizal). The three silver medalists are Single Armed Men Category A (Ismael Bin Jaapar), Single Armed Women Category A (Agestin Dwi Tridayanti), and Double Men Category (Muhammad Ilham Yusuf, Rizky Fadhilah Ibrahim).
Four bronze medals were won by Single Bare Men Category A (Muhammad Iqbal Saefullah), Single Armed Men Category B (Muhammad Rois Al Dien Surya), Single Armed Women Category B (Anisa Nur Nugrahaningtyas), and Mixed Group Category (Arif Nur Wahyudi, Kharis Nur Sholikhin, Hega Sharyo, Nyimas Nabilatul, Annisa). The 1st runner-up was won by Astrinda in Single Bare Hand Women Category B, and the 2nd runner-up was won by Adel and Hasna in Women Double A and Mixed Group B.
The Chairman of Student Association (UKM) in Tapak Suci UNS, Muhammad Alfin Ilham stated that his team won in all categories after competing with teams from other ten universities on 2-5 December 2021.
“Alhamdulillah from all categories we participated in, Tapak Suci UNS won. We competed with ten other universities such as Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya, UNILA, Undip, UM Kaltim, UAD, UMY, UNJ, UNAIR, UMS,” the Guidance and Counseling Education program student explained.
Wahyu Nian Tri Firmansyah, the trainer of Tapak Suci UNS, stated that the teams aimed to be a grand champions from the beginning of their participation. Nian stated that they have prepared for the competition since September 2021 through programmed training in the Faculty of Sports (FKOR) UNS Sports Center. The athletes also maintained their health well, considering the uncertain weather condition. The team also had a special tip in their preparation.
