UNS — To meet the need for quality teaching staff, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a recruitment process for non-public servant faculty members on Monday (7/6/2021). Applicants who passed the administrative selection joined the Basic Capability Test (TKD), and Field Capability Test (TKB) held in G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium under a strict health protocol.
“We need to be very careful in this pandemic. We require all participants to take antigen test to ensure that we are safe, they are safe, the committee is safe, and UNS also safe,” Vice-Rector for Management and Human Resources Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Si., Ak., stated.
The recruitment process was applied by 1,900 applicants. Through the administrative selection, 645 people passed, and only 160 were validated to participate in the examination. Thirty-one programs open recruitment for faculty members, 23 programs in the Vocational School (SV), 1 program in the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), 1 program in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA), six 6 vacancies in the Faculty of Medical Science (FK). Around 90 people will be accepted.
“Thus, we will get qualified faculty members for UNS. After this examination, participants who passed will be tested for teaching that involves the rectorate, deans, and programs,” Prof. Bandi explained.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, stated that this selection is because University with Legal Entity (PTNBH) does not have CPNS posts this year. The State Civil Service (BKN) focuses on recruiting CPNS for universities in Working Unit (Satker) and public services categories (BLU). “This means 12 PTNBH have the flexibility to manage. If they lack (in human resource), they are allowed to recruit, count, and prepare the career. The faculty members we are recruiting will have a career similar to PNS standard,” Prof. Jamal explained.
Prof. Jamal hopes that with this recruitment standard, UNS will be able to hire good teaching staff. Prof. Jamal also believes that the standard will bring quality staff in terms of academic capability and integrity as both are equally vital for UNS.
“I believe we will get good faculty members,” Prof. Jamal stated. Humas UNS
