UNS – A total of 10 proposals of Universitas Sebelas Marat (UNS) Surakarta Students Creativity Program (PKM) pass to join 32nd National Student Science Week (Pimnas) that will be held in Universitas Udayana, Bali on August 27-30 this year.
Vice-Rector for Students and Alumni Affairs of UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, said that the number of programs that qualify for Pimnas increased than last year. In this year, there are 41 programs that have been funded by the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education (Kemristekdikti) and 10 programs were announced to pass Pimnas.
“Last year (2018), there were 99 PKMs that funded by Kemristekdikti, but only 4 programs that qualify for Pimnas,” he said.
Out of 10 PKMs successfully manage for 32nd Pimnas in Bali, there are 3 programs of Copyrighted Works (PKM-KC), 5 programs of Exact Science (PKM-PE), also 1 program of each Community Service (PKM-M) and Written Idea (PKM-GT).
“Our targets are return home gold medals and make UNS proud in this 32nd Pimnas,” he added.
For this reason, the bureau of UNS student affair keeps on preparing so the PKM teams that pass Pimnas will perform optimally in front of the jury panels. “The preparations start with poster preparation and presentation. For the presentation, we ask for lecturers who expert in their field to give inputs. Then we also invite national level reviewers to evaluate the teams before performing in Pimnas,” explained Prof. Kuncoro.
Meanwhile, a Faculty of Agriculture (FP) lecturer as well as the supervisor of PKM-M titled “Kampung Sawah (Trash Village) A Waste Commercialization Program for People in Sawah Karang, Jebres”, Eksa Rusdiyana, S.P, M.Sc, hopes that the team under his supervision can do UNS proud in this Pimnas.Â
