UNS – Two lecturers and a student of Fine Arts Study Program, the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, appears in the ASEAN Digital Art Society (Asedas) Virtual International 2020. This exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief of the Indonesian National Gallery, Pustanto, and was opened on June, 6th 2020, through the official Asedas Youtube, Instagram, and website.
On the occasion, two lecturers, Sigit Purnomo Adi and Dona Prawita Arissuta, as well as a student of FSRD UNS, Susdiyantoro, successfully passed the selection for exhibition. The Asedas 2020 International Virtual Digital Art Exhibition is the first virtual exhibition event held and takes the theme of Covid-19.
During the event, the organizing committee invites not only partnerships from Indonesia and Malaysia, but several universities from various countries and media from Mexico. There are 524 works from 34 countries that participated in the event. The 34 countries participated, among other, are Iran, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Argentina, Azerbaijan, China, Mexico, Netherlands, Palestine, Poland, Russia, Turkey, and many other. While the three curators involved are Nuning Damayanti from Indonesia, Tarmizi from Malaysia, and Ms. Sabina Obeholzer from Sweden.
“The selected works have been going through several stages of the assessment process across countries. The panel juries participated in this exhibition are from Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico, China, and Japan,” explains Sigit, Sunday (28/6/2020).
In the Asedas Virtual International 2020, Sigit Purnomo Adi’s work entitled We Can Fight Corona 19 and Dona Prawita Arissuta’s work ‘Stay At Home’ together with Susdiyantoro’s fine art entitled Soup Voca, are chosen from 524 digital artworks received from 34 countries. Humas UNS/Dwi
