UNS — Opening 2021, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held annual silaturahmi offline and online in G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium, Monday (4/1/2021). This event was opened with a speech from Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., on Public University with Legal Entity (PTN BH) UNS in Achieving International Reputation.
“PTN-BH is a means for UNS to be a World-Class university,” Irwan stated, opening his speech.
Irwan conveyed that the academic members of UNS should understand the importance of having an excellent international reputation for a university. So far, only ranking is used as the main reference in international reputation, while behind those ranking, there is an educational quality that demands attention. According to Irwan, UNS needs to prepare the indicators and components of international ranking, including academic reputation, graduate reputation, ratio faculty members and students, scientific citation, and teachers to international student ratio. Each faculty also need to pay attention to their international research for global rank per field of study.
Irwan also shared that UNS ranking according to the QS World Ranking University is improving from previous years. It is expected that UNS ranking in the following five years can reach 601-650th at the international level. On the same occasion, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho offered his appreciation to UNS academic members for their efforts in achieving the PTN BH status and UNS current position.
“The success of UNS and its future is not the result of one-person efforts, but because of the involvement of many parties who shared objectives to achieve something great. Applause for UNS academic members,” Prof. Jamal invited.
On the occasion, the Rector also conducted a Soft Launching for Data and Information System Integration. The application titled Program’s Performance Report (Laporan Kinerja Program Studi) can be accessed through lpks.uns.ac.id. Through this application, academic members can access the data of tri dharma collaboration at Program, student data at the Program, human resources data, financial data, facilities and infrastructures, academic data, and research, community services, and other tri dharma outputs.
