UNS – Sutrisno Hadi Purnomo Ph.D., a lecturer of Animal Husbandry Department of Faculty of Agriculture (FP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), was chosen to receive a fellowship from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Republic of China (Taiwan) government year 2019. Purnomo is one of the ten Indonesian grantees of Taiwan Fellowship Research.
“All the ten Taiwan Fellowship Research grantees from Indonesia are from various universities in Indonesia and from the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI),” said Purnomo (04/02/2019).
The researchers who accept the fellowship will conduct a research for 3 until 12 months in Taiwan while Purnomo will carry out the 3-months research. The research will study the comparison of integrated farming in organic agriculture between Taiwan and Indonesia.
He explained, “This research will be executed through collaboration with researchers from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, National Chung Hsing University, one of the best agriculture universities in Taiwan.”
Besides research activity, Purnomo was asked to be a visiting professor in International Agribusiness programs on World Food Problem subject, a subject which discusses the problems of food safety and food security for world food supply. Some of the topics that will be discussed are World Hunger, Population and Ethics, Green Revolution, the Agricultural Revolution, Industrial Revolution, also Policy and development. On April 6-9, Purnomo has received the visits from Dean of FP UNS, Prof. Bambang Pujiasmanto and the Coordinator of International Cooperation of FP UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus to examine the academic fellowship with the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan.
