Ninety Covid-19 Patients in UNS Hospital Recovered 

UNS – As many as 90 Covid-19 patients who received treatment in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Hospital were recovered. The information was shared by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho in an online press release on Monday (27/7/2020). On the occasion, Prof. Jamal added that during July 2020, UNS Hospital treats 123 Covid-19 patients and from the number, 90 patients were recovered and were allowed to go home, including one of UNS executive who started his/her treatment on 21 July 2020 and released from the hospital on Saturday, 25 July 2020. 

The director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Hartono added that since Covid-19 laboratory is opened on 13 April 2020 until Monday, 27 July 2020, UNS Hospital has conducted swab test on 12,488 samples with 1,827 samples are under process. The samples came from Sukoharjo, Klaten, Boyolali, Surakarta and other regions in Central Java. By Monday, UNS Hospital treats 35 patients with 33 patients tested positive for Covid-19, two waiting for the test result, and 5 in UNS Hospital House Shelter. The patients are from the general community and healthcare workers. 

Prof. Hartono added that on average the patients were treated for 6.5 days, with shortest treatment ended in 4 days and the longest treatment ended in 13 days. In total, UNS Hospital has treated 141 Covid-19 positive patients until Monday (27/7/2020). In providing the treatment, UNS Hospital is supported by 660 medical team and paramedics that consists of 41 specialist and dentist specialist, 29 general practitioners, 2 dentists, 415 paramedics, 168 non-paramedics, and 5 directors. 

“UNS Hospital applies procedures following applicable regulations and maintains close coordination with the Department of Health as a part of Covid-19 prevention,” Prof. Hartono stated.

He wishes that the community, particularly in Surakarta and surrounding regions be careful, maintain physical distance, wear a face mask, and wash hands using soaps or hand sanitizer as the important parts of preventing Covid-19 infection. Humas UNS
