UNS – Team of Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW) of University of Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won second place in the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) EXPO held in Batam State Polytechnic on November 22-25, 2019.
In developing the spirit of entrepreneurship, the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education’s (Kemristekdikti) Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs (Ditjen Belmawa) organized the Indonesian Studnet Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo which was participated by 104 universities in Indonesia.
“UNS sent 5 delegations of student entrepreneurs who are Friska Amanda, Muhamad Ramdani, Aditya Kharisma, Winarti, and Adib Safiudin, to participate in this event. They were ready to compete in the KMI Award which was one of the main events in the 2019 KMI EXPO,” said the Head of Entrepreneurship Development Center (PPKwu) LPPM UNS, Susantiningrum, Spd. SE., M.Ab.Â
KMI Award is a competition and appreciation event for students who became entrepreneurs in their university. This competition is based on the “Real Business Competition” concept so the focus is on evaluating the performance excellence and professionalism in the business.
“There are 5 categories of businesses that were competed, including food and beverage, service and trade, technology, creative, and production/cultivation. On this occasion, UNS managed to achieve silver medal in the category of creative industry represented by Winarti, a student of Faculty of Art and Design with the business named ‘Aira Plastic Caligraphy’,” Susantiningrum continued.
Previously, PMW successfully made UNS at the fourth winner in the last KMI, represented by Sugeng Sulistiyawan, Saryo, and Asma’ Nurul Fauziah. Humas UNS/Dwi/Try
